This is not a safe place for vegans. My partner and I were excited to visit this restaurant after spotting the big vegan breakfast on their menu. After we had been seated, we ordered two vegan breakfasts wirh two orange juices and my partner asked for extra sausages and pudding from the waitress. A different waitress brought our food from the kitchen and served my partner with "big vegan breakfast with extra pork sausages". My partner told the waitress that the order was (obviously) extra vegan sausages. Instead of taking the plate away she checked with the chefs first before returning to take away the plate. It was then I noticed that my breakfast was served with two butters that had "contains: milk" clearly written on the foil. I told the waitress who apologised and replaced them with two pots of Flora. Once the waitress had served my partner with the correct order, no-one returned to ask us how the meals were. My partner paid at the host station and again, no question of our meal. We were going to stay for coffees but I had no confidence that they would be served with dairy free milk. There is something seriously wrong with the training or kitchen if no-one thought it was strange that pork sausages and cow's milk butter should be served with a vegan breakfast. It's 2022. Vegans diners should not have to be on alert for mistakes like this. A really disappointing and frustrating...
Read moreI have been a regular customer for many years, as my office is located just nearby, and I have always appreciated the convenience and quality of your food. However, I feel I need to raise a complaint regarding the portion size of the superfood salad I ordered recently.
The portion was noticeably smaller than usual — barely filling a small bowl — yet still priced at €15.95, which feels quite excessive for what was served. I was genuinely surprised by the difference, especially having ordered this same dish many times before.
To add to this, I heard a similar complaint from one of my colleagues who ordered a similar salad last Friday, which suggests this may not have been a one-off.
It’s disappointing to see such a drop in value for a place we’ve supported so regularly. I hope this feedback is taken on board, as I’d love to continue recommending and enjoying your food as we have...
Read moreThe Swords restaurant is where we stopped by for breakfast. The welcome was friendly but unfortunately that is where the niceties ended. We were shown to a table which was too small to accommodate two plates and a tea pot. Terribly tiny and not fit for purpose. We ordered two Woodland breakfast plates and tea. Firstly I have to say the onion and chive potato cake was horrendous and does not belong on any food menu. The taste was revolting and the texture was like something retrieved from under the fridge after ten years. The scrambled eggs were nice along with the granary toast but the mushrooms had a weird chemical kind of taste. I have had lunch in the Santry restaurant a few times and really liked it so I was shocked to find Swords to be this bad. Overall, the room is clean and rustic but it definitely feels cramped and the food I'd absolutely...
