Not impressed with service at all. My friends and I were visiting Galway for one night and were looking for a nice dinner place out. Queen Street restaurant was central and looked like it had good ambiance for photos online. Unfortunately it disappointed. When we arrived we stood at the door unacknowledged for 5 minutes. When I finally went up to the bar to say “hello, I have a reservation and I would like to be seated”, the worker behind the bar was texting and didn’t seem thrilled to bring us to a table. We then sat at our table for another 15 minutes without anyone coming over to acknowledge us at all, meanwhile we could see the one server behind the bar again texting! The restaurant was not super busy at all, might I add, but they were clearly short-staffed for a Friday night. We got up and left to find somewhere else. I can’t comment on the food because we didn’t get to enjoy anything, but the service was a major...
Read moreStylish gastropub and bar in Victoria’s hotel. The place is enormous and has great atmosphere.. it offers nice drinks and a good selection of food. We had a two course lunch included in our stay, so we were offered a starter/main or main/dessert + 1 free drink. Dinner was awesome! The Irish chowder didn’t disappoint as usual.. it was hot and very rich in flavor. Tempura prawns were one of the best I’ve tasted in Ireland, deep fried king prawns served with two sauces and a small side salad. The salmon main course was great: a generous piece of salmon served with mushed potatoes and other roasted veggies. Pizza; however, was a big fail! Crust was so thin and hard/burnt; was giving supermarket pizza vibes.. it looks nothing like four cheese pizza. The staff were all very nice, they looked after us, kept us company and suggested a few things to do in...
Read moreThere for a hen. The decor and aesthetics are IMO the best in Galway. There was a great buzz and athmosphere which added to our overall positive experience. I dealt with Aishlin and she was available on the day - major bonus. The service was fantastic, namely from Patrick and Aishlin, everything we requested we received. The food was delicious, portions are too big if anything. We paid €30 for a two course and a glass of prosecco. From what I saw it is a popular place for celebrations, groups, families and couples. Only negative I have about the place is the toilets - not maintained, even though the signing sheet implied they were! Would highly recommend and will...
