The food is good and it's a nice place to get away from the noise of the nearby pubs. However, we had an unpleasant experience. The waiter, a man who barely spoke, brought us our drinks and, when we told him we wanted "still water for both of us", he assumed we wanted two one-litre bottles of tap water. Normally, waiters ask if you want one large bottle for both of you or a small one (500 ml) for each of you. He didn't do that. He brought the bottles and both were open (which is why we assumed it was tap water). We wouldn't complain about this if it weren't for the excessive price of the water. €4 per bottle, which means we had to pay €8 for a bottle we didn't even finish, plus the other one we didn't even start. When we told the manager who brought us the bill, he just said, "You asked for it." We didn't want to argue because we know how these types of restaurants work. The dishes are reasonably priced, but the water is a rip-off, as in many Italian restaurants geared towards tourists. The girl from Peru who took our order was very friendly, and I really hope she can get out of that place, because if that's how the manager treats his customers, I don't even want to think about how he treats his employees.
PS: The next day we went to an Asian restaurant for dinner, and the first thing they did was serve us two glasses of water, free of charge, and made sure we had enough water throughout the meal. That's what I call really good,...
Read moreA little corner of Italy in the heart of Galway. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Venice is a true gem for anyone looking for the warmth, flavors, and authentic atmosphere of Italy, without needing to board a plane. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy, elegant, and welcoming ambiance. The staff is kind, smiling, and genuinely passionate. It feels like being invited to dinner by Italian friends who really know how to cook. I ordered a Caesar salad, and I must say, I’ve never had one so delicious: perfectly creamy, with just the right balance of flavor, freshness, and crunch. Every bite was bursting with taste, made with the freshest ingredients and a rich yet delicate dressing. Alongside the salad came a handmade focaccia: warm, fragrant, soft on the inside with a beautiful golden crust. A true comfort food, perfect for soaking up every last drop of that amazing Caesar dressing. You can clearly feel that every dish is made with passion, love for Italian cuisine, and meticulous attention to detail. Venice isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience, a journey through the authentic flavors of Italy, right in the heart of Ireland.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a special moment, savor real Italian food, and feel, even just for an evening, right at home.

Read moreWe were walking past and noticed the sign, so we decided to give it a try while we were visiting. We were sat and were not spoken to for 10 minutes. Then, the owner (short man with the tight shirt) came to take our order. We weren’t too hungry, so we asked “are the portions somewhat large for your pasta? We’re not super hungry so we plan on sharing something.” He then said “well I mean, they’re for one person. So. I don’t know what you want me to say?” So, since it was glaringly obvious he would not let us split something, we said “okay, we’ll start with some water and garlic bread..” He said, “sparkling or still?” We said “oh, still is fine.” He then said, “so water, bread and…?” We said “yes water and garlic bread to start.” He then said “….and? I need your full order before I type anything up.” We were thrown off and told him to give us a second before we ordered then. He then brought us water that he would eventually charge us €4 for, when every table (no exaggeration we looked before we left) had a carafe of tap water. We decided on our food and we never saw him again until it was time to pay. Our food was unseasoned and bland, nothing to write home about. But honestly, we should have just walked out after he was rude...
