Avoid Avoid - Paid 240 for a noisy tiny room with a the smallest toilet ever!|The big problem was the room was so noisy - the fire alarm went off at 1pm and some other building alarm went off 8 more times - then we had the extremely frequent noise from the pedestrian crossing beeping signal position down below - other that than you had the late night hustle and bustle, and then before the crack of dawn you hear the council's road sweepers doing their duties. We went to bed at 10:30 and struggled to get up for 9 as we had not got more that an hour of uninterrupted sleep between fire, security alarms and the pedestrian crossing signaling (beeping and booping all night).||Cost was 240 euros for the tiny room from hell and to top it off that did not include breakfast or water in the rooms - we had to go the bar and get water |When you charge that kind of money - the least they could do is sound proof the rooms from the street noise - this has to be the same problem for anyone staying there. |They need to have temperature controls in the rooms and sound proof the rooms |||People like these give other business a bad name for ripping people of in Ireland - These guys wrote the book on ripping people off ||My advice is stay away from this place - Take a any B & B it cant be any worse and surely it will be quieter ||"Thirteen on the Green" was an unlucky pick||On the plus side the staff were good - but they can't make up for greedy owners' years of ignoring these issues mentioned and their customers, while living off what is a...
Read moreAvoid if you want to experience hospitality. Lovely interior, reminds me of an old school bank vibe. But the staff were so rude. A young girl with glasses kept rolling her eyes and was outwardly irrated in how she spoke and her facial expressions. Another staff member was annoyed we sat in the restaurant - there was simply a sign to say wait to be seated, nothing to designated it was a restaurant, nor were the tables set so that was obvious. We straight away apologised and said we didn't realise, and we'd happily order food. It's like they were mad with us for not understanding the rules - they work there, not us, how were we meant to know that? Another female staff member came up to my table and told me I was being too loud and she felt disturbing others - loudly in front of my group. All I was doing was talking and laughing with a friend sitting right beside me, as I drank my one and only beer. It was humiliating and shocking to be treated like that. We were a group, so I'm guessing that's what they didn't like but they happily took our money, As they treated us so rudely. I guess with such a transitional clientèle they don't feel any need to treat their customers well. I've been to galway many times, including living there, but had never been to this pub before and never will again. Avoid, and walk around the corner and the 100 metres up to O'Connells for just a nice an interior & cocktails, better ambiance and...
Read moreI only recommend this hotel because the location is elite. I went in November and it was right across from the Christmas market, literally just steps away! It's also a quick walk away from many restaurants, shops, pubs and train station which I was extremely grateful for. I was nervous that there would be never ending noise considering its over a pub and other reviews , but I didn't hear them at all, even when it was packed and it had live music , so do not let that deter you, I actually loved coming out my room to the live music , it was refreshing. The reason I can't give it a full 5 stars is simply because the rooms leave a lot to be desired. It's just uncomfortable. The bed was lumpy which made me sleep uncomfortable, I had to take cold showers most of the time which was unpleasant considering the time of the year and how cold it was however to their defense I never complained and gave them a chance to fix it, because well I just hate complaining and every time I showered it was early morning and late late night since I was barely in the room because well, who wants to be in the room when in Ireland. The bathroom was also just uncomfortable in general, I stayed by myself and felt tight but I did have a checked in luggage which took space. Despite all that I would still stay here again because location is amazing, price is fair (considering location) and their...
