I arrived here at 13:45 this afternoon. There is a selection of tables both on the street directly in front of the premises and additional seating across the street in a car park. Although there were many diners at tables there was at least 60% of tables empty between the two eating areas. I asked the server for a table for 1 and was asked if I had a reservation. To which I replied I did not she asked me to wait, and she would check for me. She came back with immediate effect to say they were fully booked. I was quiet taken aback by that considering that so many tables were free. There were two ladies standing directly behind me and they said to each other “OH dear they are full we won’t get a table”. So I walked away. BUT I just felt something was not quite right. So, I took a step back and the two ladies behind me proceeded to ask for a table for 2 to which the server replied certainly let me just check. she came back and escorted the ladies to a table. I have NEVER felt so incensed and embarrassed, I called the server aside and asked her how come these ladies got a table without a reservation and I was unable to get a table for 1. She proceeded to get a manager at which stage he came and apologised clearly aware that he had discriminated a solo customer. He escorted me to a table for 4 (I felt to embarrass me) albeit that there were 3 Tables for 2 in the immediate area. In my time there all these table remained empty with the exception of 1 ( a table for 2 ) again I overheard this lady say she didn't have a reservation . She was advised she could have the table until 3.30pm as it was reserverved after that (I have photos to confirm same) and as I was leaving and paying my bill I noticed that the area across the road was at a capacity of apx 33% at best. It is a sorry state of affairs if a person on their own is unable to eat in a restaurant. Many of us have had a long lockdown I personally have not seen my own daughter who lives in the UK for over a year and I was just so happy to be able to get out again and have lunch/ dinner and in return support our local business. I came home today in tears for the way that I was treated just because I was eating on my own and an establishment clearly wanted to keep their tables free for larger groups ..

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner and it was very lovely. The staff were friendly and nice although we had a couple of different waiters which caused confusion at times regarding orders. Since I had gone here before I wanted to try small bites like the mini lobster rolls, the burrata and a side of truffle mac and cheese. All of the food was tasty, even though I did not get a main, i found everything to be filling. I had to ask for bread with the burrata, when I read "pan tomato" I assumed it came with it. It was creamy so it went perfectly with bread. The lobster rolls would be an appetiser for most people but given the rich flavours, I thought the portion was good. Mac and cheese was great but some people might find the aroma of truffle a bit different. The taste was light and really good. Good portion for a side. The night was very enjoyable but I noticed my boyfriend looking around as if he was waiting for something throughout the meal. It turned out, he had sent in a request to the restaurant for my birthday to do something and he would pay for anything they did extra. There were a good few birthday cakes the staff brought out for other diners whilst singing but I never got one. I didn't know until we had left that he included that request but I suppose it was a little disappointing they didn't read what he had sent in the booking.

Was in the Cornstore in Limerick recently and honest to God, it was top class from start to finish. The place has a lovely buzz about it, proper nice décor, and the staff are absolute legends—so sound and on the ball without being in your face. Now the food… different gravy. The prawn pil pil was savage—sizzling in garlic and chilli oil, full of flavour, and the bread for dipping was the job. Then we got the mussels in garlic sauce and they were melt-in-the-mouth good—fresh as anything, swimming in this rich, garlicky broth you'd nearly drink with a spoon! Steak was cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were spot on too—real tasty without being all sugar and no kick. For the quality of the grub and the whole experience, the prices are a bit dear but you know you’re in a proper place that takes pride in what they’re doing. If you’re knocking about Limerick and fancy a decent feed in a lovely spot, Cornstore’s where it’s at. And don’t leave without trying that pil pil or the mussels—they’re magic.

We visited Cornstore, for the first time, to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. From the very beginning, the service was deeply disappointing and unwelcoming.

One staff member in particular, D…, was remarkably unprofessional and discourteous. When we inquired about a specific dish we had seen featured in multiple photos and videos on Cornstore’s official Instagram account, D… responded with an unnecessarily aggressive tone, stating — quite shockingly — that he could “swear to God” that such a dish had never been on the menu. This statement was not only inappropriate but directly contradicted the restaurant’s own promotional materials, making the experience feel misleading and verging on false advertising.

We had arrived with the intention of enjoying a full evening: starters, main courses, desserts, and wine. However, due to the unfriendly and dismissive manner in which we were treated, we felt deeply uncomfortable and considered leaving shortly after being seated.

This was meant to be a joyful celebration, but the attitude of the staff — particularly D… — completely overshadowed any potential the evening had.

Sadly, I cannot recommend Cornstore to others. The service does not match the image portrayed online, and the overall experience did not live up to the reputation the establishment...
