What a disappointment. We were out to dinner to celebrate our son’s graduation last month. The food was not anything close to what we expected. We had been here before and always enjoyed it. So we were surprised by the poor experience and the poor impression that it left. My son and I are both lactose intolerant. I asked if they could use olive oil instead of butter for our meals and to keep everything else the same. Also, because I typically eat my main meal midday and was not hungry, I asked if I could have my appetizer served with the main meal. I ordered the confit pork cheek with yellow split peas, black garlic puree and pork crackling. My son ordered the Hereford Beef Fillet, Corned Ox Tongue Croquette, Roast Garlic Confit, Cafe de Paris butter. My husband ordered the lightly curried pan fried monkfish medallions, provencal sauce. After waiting a half hour, the waitress came back to ask if an ‘au jus’ would be okay. I said again that if they could just make it with olive oil instead of butter that would be great. She said the au jus was good and they could make it with that instead. I figured that they have done good food in the past so it should be good and I didn’t want to make a fuss especially when we were celebrating my son’s day. So I said okay. However, when they finally brought the food the dishes came with au jus only and almost nothing else! My confit pork appetizer was turned into a main dish (so, too big) and it didn’t have any split peas or black garlic puree -- the things that make it tasty. So imagine having two lumps of confit pork cheek with au jus and a bit of pork crackling on top. It was such a disappointment. My son’s hereford came with au jus only with a bit of greens on top. It was so tiny, you’d think it was an appetizer. I know it’s a filet but, for €39, you’d expect it to be bigger. There was no croquette or garlic confit. And there were no vegetables or potatoes except for a side of chips! I’m including a picture so you can see how incredibly small and drab it looks. My husband’s meal looked nice, small and tasty. He says it was good but too small. There were no vegetables or potatoes with the other meals. We were so hungry that we all ate my son’s chips but really, for the price we paid, we shouldn’t have been relying on chips to fill up. The price of the gin and tonic was reasonable. The food, however, was way overpriced and certainly not up to the standard we expected. On top of that they added a service charge for a really terrible experience. You can see why I am not happy. I am so disappointed that it will be a long time before we go back. I felt we were only a transaction to them and nothing else. Poor service, poor food. Just very disappointing.

My wife & I visited again Wexford City, Ireland, for a day outing, wednesday, May 22, 2019. We decided to have first our morning coffee break at Green Acres. My wife got some scones & jam with her coffee & I had a cheese cake served with a little whipped cream with Americano coffee. They were delicious. We sat in the cozy restaurant section. There is a good selection of coffee, scones & pastries available. Then we shopped at their specialty store as well as the Wine Shop. Highly recommendable place. Friday evening, May 24, 2019, my wife & I enjoyed a 3 course dinner at Green Acres of Wexford. We took our time to choose what we fancied to eat & drink. I had seafood chowder as a starter with a glass of Riesling white wine. It was well prepared & delicious. For the main course, we got tender sirloin steaks with chips & other trimmings. We shared a bottle of red wine with the main meal. For dessert, I got creme brulee & coffee. Highly recommendable. Monday morning, 27th May 2019, we had again coffee at Green Acres of Wexford, I tried their sticky toppy pudding. It was delicious.

Green Acres in Wexford offers an exceptional dining experience with its outstanding cuisine. The dishes were flavorful, well-presented, and truly exceeded expectations. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the chef's talent and attention to detail. However, the service needs some improvement, considering the cost of the meal and the service charge. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the staff was inattentive. They failed to check in to see if we were enjoying our food and left us having to hail a member of staff every time we wanted something. Improving the service to match the high quality of the food would make Green Acres an unbeatable dining destination. This being said, it was overall a great experience thanks to the great quality of the food and I would recommend Green Acres.

Shockingly rude waitress in restaurant and terse, snappy middle-aged waiter. Always the same ignorant staff members every time I go in (just for coffee now). Both have unfortunately ruined my experience of Green Acres, which has lots of lovely things to offer. The staff need to go on a Customer Service course, and 2 should be fired. Complete disconnect between lovely products and some toxic staff. Owners really need to listen to the bad reviews and do something about them. Go in happy come out angry? I just wish they'd leave and join the ferry ..

My meal was compimentary this evening such was my upset at treatment from the middle-aged, Nurse Ratchet-style waitress and her rudeness to my 8yr old son. She pounced on us demanding he put his toy gun away, out of sight! He was terrified and I was furious and it was in front of the other patrons too, who actually found him and his toy gun endearing. Cringe watching her tugging her forlock at the Opera goers and unacceptably rude to others who weren't and brought in a toy gun to keep themselves amused while waiting for their meal to arrive. Joe Duffy would love this! Apparently, Wexford was voted the worst county in Ireland for Customer Service. I can vouch for that, in some places. Bad down here, is really bad! And Green Acres has it bad.

Went home to my pretty cottage and had banana on toast. Simply delicious! Why bother go out to dine at all, with...

I’ve come here a few times before and it’s always been ok.. nothing special or memorable, just relatively pleasant. But after our experience while dining in today, I certainly won’t be going back. The floor was filled with staff and the place wasn’t overly busy, there were plenty of empty tables. However, despite this, the service was ridiculously slow. I recieved my food 15 minutes before we recieved the 2 drinks we ordered…? Bizarre. My mum ordered a literal espresso and I ordered a glass of wine.. in what world does an espresso and a glass of wine in a well staffed, non busy restaurant take 15 minutes to be served. My meal was alright, but my mum’s one was a complete disaster. She ordered a chicken wrap which was overflowing with watery sauce and raw diced peppers. It also contained diced cucumbers, which she happens to be mildly intolerant to. It was not stated on the menu that cucumbers would be inside the wrap. That is extremely unacceptable; for allergy reasons. She obviously couldn’t finish even half of it then because of that, but also because it just tasted awful! Very unpleasant experience. Our guess is the management that runs the place is bad; no other logical reason. The prices are unreasonably extortionate too. Would not recommend this place, unless you’re just popping in to buy a bottle of wine from their...
