This review will be mixed, but I'll start with the best part.
The Lamb madras dish. While I expected a traditional preparation with the usual combination of tomato, chili, and aromatic spices, I was pleasantly surprised by a unique twist. The lamb madras I encountered was slightly creamy and milder in terms of spiciness. Although it deviated from the conventional recipe, I was completely won over by its deliciousness.
One of the standout features of this dish was the tenderness of the lamb. The meat practically melted in my mouth with each bite, demonstrating the skillful cooking technique employed by the chefs. It was evident that they had taken great care in selecting quality cuts of lamb and cooking them to perfection.
The accompanying naan breads were exceptional. They were freshly baked, warm, and flavourful.
This dish left me longing for more. I would gladly swap out my own lamb madras recipe for this delightful variation any day.
The Butter Chicken.
While I had high hopes for this classic dish, I must admit that it fell short of my expectations. The tomato flavor was overpowering, lacking the balance I was hoping for. Additionally, the dish needed more cream to achieve the desired richness. The kasoori methi, a crucial ingredient in butter chicken, didn't come through enough, leaving me wanting for its distinct taste. Unfortunately, this particular rendition missed the mark for me.
Chicken Biryani.
I must admit that this dish was ok, but left me somewhat disappointed. One of the primary issues was the lack of basic seasoning, such as salt, which is essential to enhance the flavors of the ingredients. Unfortunately, the other spices and ingredients didn't shine through as well, resulting in a dish that lacked the depth and complexity expected from a flavorful biryani. The accompanying sauce/gravy is nice but overall, it was a missed opportunity to showcase the vibrant and aromatic qualities that make chicken biryani so beloved.
(Also an easy fix in my opinion)
Overall I can't be harsh, the value for money and portion sizing is FANTASTIC, and I know another night the Chef will find his/her salt, cream and other spices to fix the other dishes.
I will be back for the madras for sure, and I'll get some other dishes to give you my feedback on.
Lastly, this is just my opinion; to show its down to personal tastes, my son told me the Biryani was great and told me I shouldn't...

Read moreI've found this beautiful Indian restaurant, it takes me over an hour to travel back and forth but its so worth it. Sealord is a hidden gem. I've had food from different places in Wexford but Sealord in my opinion is so consistent, fresh, and when you put the food in your mouth it's like a taste of heaven, no joking it's beautiful and you will not be disappointed. 100%. I always tend to go for hot and spicy, vindaloo. It's always the wow factor and it's hot. My wife has the Goan fish curry. The Goan is as I say always beautifully constructed, the fresh ginger, garlic, spices just work and there is always plenty of fish and King prawns. Its a meal that you want to save some for the next day, its that good. Well 2nd September I ordered the usual and saw they have a New Menu. I tried the Chicken Peri Peri. OMG it's hot, tasty and so full of spice it will blow your mind. So if you like hot, spicy and tangy food, and you think your able to handle this beautifully constructed dish go for it but have a glass of milk ready. The new menu looks good with New Dishes added. The Chef looks like he's worked hard putting this together. The staff are amazing and so nice. Please don't forget that if you don't want too much spice then just ask the lads working, they will help you. Anthony deserves a shout out he's a funny guy, a big Teddy bear. And thank you Bonnie for your awesome food and hard work. The meal deal is great value. The restaurant is very easy to find, it's opposite the train station. I PROMISE YOU WON'T BE...
