TL;DR steaks came cold, 1/4 was inedible, rude service, bad side dishes. You absolutely don't get what you pay for.
It's not often I feel an urge to write off a restaurant. The thing is, you have certain expectations, when they're unmet to such a degree, and across the board I feel the need to share.
I've been to the place for meat a few years back and have a decent recollection. This time round they failed one all accounts in my opinion.
My wife and I both ordered steak - a 200gr and 300gr fillet and entrecote. They both came cold and looked unappealing, like they sat waiting for a few minutes. Steak must be served right off the grill otherwise it looks bad and when you get to the other end you're eating cold leftovers.
The side dishes - we ordered the iceberg lettuce and so called baked potato. Lettuce - they told us they don't have it only a second before the steaks came. We were one of the first tables, if you didn't bring stuff to the kitchen today you should tell us at ordering (just like when you don't bring your homework to school). Opted for the Green Salad instead, which was so drenched in sauce it was inedible. Potatoes - they may have spent a very brief excursion in an oven but they weren't a baked potato and were far from being cooked through (not to mention the lack of any seasoning or flavor).
200gr fillet - the meat tasted ok, however came cold. Ordered medium and got well-done (it was pink-gray through most of it). 300gr entrecote - also came out cold (and believe me, I dug right in). The slice was poor quality, they were cheap on the meat and I ate 3/4 of the steak (this is not ny first rodeo, I like my fat and messy steak, this was just rubber).
So beacause I was hungry I made the mistake of ordering onion rings (because a few years ago they were good) and again, I am no stranger to deep fried food. However the onion rings were a mess of oil that had accidentally met an onion on the way to my plate.
Now to the far important part. The service, or lack thereof. We were asked about the dishes a few bites in, which is great, but when I told the waitress my steak was cold, she offered to reheat it, which I obviously declined. One guy was rude all along, yelling at the kitchen, he went almost as far as bashing the plates on our table. They sent us a dessert "on the house", I guess it's cheaper than the word sorry. However the abnoxious guy coming with the check was pointing at the cake and going "is this from us?" I was stunned then and there. To top it all, they added a 15% tip on the check we hardly noticed!! It was written below the tax and horribly misleading and rude.
So, I thought I should mention all of this to the manager, who hovered close to us during our whole lunch, we were next to the "business" area of the place. He offered a very dull and unconvincing apology and just walked away. Didn't check what's up in the kitchen or his staff. That's the worst of it, it's OK to make mistakes, it's ok if you hire rude staff. It's bad when it's your place and you don't give about it.
So why am I mad? I don't mind paying high price for meat and service, but I expect to get the least of either. I got...
