Food 10/10 as always, BUT I won’t go there again or anymore. They lost a loyal customer!
Poor customer service and outside of the box thinking.
We went with our 1yo baby and my parents, they literally took a 60 shekels for Kids menu(the baby is 1yo barely touched it, we asked for 2-3 pieces of tofu if possible and they said no, only kids menu, well whatever)
Food and wine - they didn’t have the wine we wanted (only 1 kind of it go figure :/ so the alternative is almost twice expensive, and the answer is it is what it is, mm ok)
Dessert - they didn’t have the chocolate choice (again), we took another one which was great but ordered also hot drinks, To be honest we didn’t look at the clock, the dessert arrived asap, after finishing it, the drinks arrived 5-10 minutes after, once they arrived the manager came and asked us to get up, pay the bill 1400 and leave as the table is reserved for the next booking and we finished our 2 hours time limit ( understood, so why to ask us for dessert and drinks?? Why to bring it to us with such a long delay after the dessert?)
A way to make extra cash on your customers I reckon…
Instead of putting us with the trolly next to an exit, we had to carry it to the other side of the restaurant, so going out was an impossible mission.
There are more examples, again, the food was great, but the way we were treated, and the total experience made me leave with a bad taste, I WONT go...
Read moreI really did not like this restaurant. I should have been suspicious - I was able to get a booking on a Saturday at 13:00 when all the other restaurants and bars were full. The service is not at all good. Meaning, the staff are not cleverly trained and management are quite happy to throw staff under the bus. This, I dont like at all. So besides the fact that we had to make every request twice - another menu, a glass of ordinary water - we were also told that we cannot change our carbs for salad or veges. I mean, seriously?? In this day and age and...in Israel?? And every meal has a full-on carb. So after we had the waitress, then the floor manager and then another waiter address us on this request, they decided they could. And we had already given up.
Then our food came. Yes, we ordered too much. 2 salads, 3 sashimi and a main dish each. The truffle salad at first bite was delicious. But by 2nd and 3rd - was waaaaay to salty, and waaaaay to sweet. How does one even achieve this?? The sashimi was ok - the salmon sashimi was excellent. Very fresh and fatty.
For the main meal I ordered the meat - medium rare, with gooseliver. The meat arrived medium well (!!!!) with the same problem as the salad - way too salty and way too sweet. I didnt finish either the salad nor the meat.
And. I had been gently warned against this place by a friend after I had already made the reservation. Live and learn...! Not going...
Read moreTyo is a beautifully designed restaurant in the charming Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Tel Aviv. We dined there last Saturday evening with mixed results. Our table was ready right on time and we were informed that we would be strictly limited to two hours for our meal. Little did we know that, despite the restaurant being only about 49% full at the early hour we dined, it would take 75 minutes for the first course to reach our table. And that was only after we pleaded with our server that we had a flight to catch later that evening. Our server was nice enough, but rarely checked on us and had to be waved down whenever we wanted to speak with her. After reviewing and approving our final bill, they then somehow charged our credit card for someone else’s more expensive meal. They noticed the error and reversed the charge. Days later I am still monitoring my credit card account waiting for the initial charge to be removed. As for the food, it was actually very good, with high quality ingredients and creative maki rolls. Unfortunately it was hard to focus on the food when so much stress was created by the slow and...
