Puglianova ristorante — Restaurant in Alberobello

The food at Ristorante Puglianova is truly excellent — very fresh, with a harmonious combination of ingredients. It was so delicious that I didn’t even have the time to take a picture before eating! I also really appreciated the menu: very straightforward and intuitive, with a photo on the left illustrating exactly what is written on the right. Simple, but very effective. What I did not enjoy, however, was the way the “coperto” (cover charge) was handled. The waitresses would bring bread or bruschette to the table and explain that you must pay for it, because according to them it covers the service — the spoons, the forks, etc. But what if I don’t want to pay for that? Doing your job is part of your job, right? No one pays me extra at my work just for doing my job. And yet this charge, which depends on the number of people seated, appears on the bill. Sono approdata in questo ristorante attraverso la app The Fork che, di solito, utilizzo per individuare nuovi locali da testare e per sapere dove trovare posto disponibile. Qualche volta, per diverse ragioni, sono rimasta delusa. Non questa volta. Puglianova è il posto che non ti aspetti, in mezzo a millemila ristoranti tipici nel centro di Alberobello che sbandierano tradizione e qualità, ma non sempre sono all'altezza di ciò che promettono. E' vero, qui non vi ritroverete a pranzare o cenare dentro un trullo nè nel cuore della zona monumentale: il ristorante è a pochissimi minuti dal centro, in una zona per nulla caratteristica ma molto tranquilla, ariosa e silenziosa, lontana dal caos e dal vociare (spesso fastidioso) di un turismo sempre più chiassoso. La location è moderna e la saletta interna non ha molti posti a sedere. In compenso, d'estate ci si può accomodare anche all'aperto: in ogni caso, i ragazzi del servizio, gentili, sorridenti e premurosi (punto assolutamente a favore) sapranno trovare la migliore soluzione anche in condizioni critiche... Le proposte gastronomiche sono varie, molto curate e denotano una grande preparazione da parte di chi gestisce la cucina. Nel menu si affiancano piatti della tradizione locale ad altri dall'aspetto forse un po' più moderno e "artistico", ma - vi assicuro - degni di nota, dai sapori spesso contrastanti ma perfettamente bilanciati. Un consiglio: dopo aver ammirato con gli occhi il cibo che avete davanti, non limitatevi a spazzolare via tutto velocemente (anche se il profumo potrebbe spingervi a farlo!), ma assaporate con calma ogni pietanza, affinché tutti i sapori che compongono la tavolozza nel vostro piatto abbiano la giusta considerazione. Punti a favore: personale accogliente e attento pulizia generale (dopo ogni cliente, tavoli e sedie vengono accuratamente puliti e disinfettati) rispetto degli orari (consiglio sempre la prenotazione) rapidità del servizio bagno impeccabile Punti a sfavore: pane migliorabile prezzi non proprio economici (ma c'è la qualità... e siamo ad Alberobello) forse poca scelta per vegetariani / vegani Vi prego, trovate il modo di tenere in fresco il vino bianco o rosato servito al calice perché arriva a tavola già a temperatura non più ottimale e si riscalda in pochi minuti (lo so, è un'impresa... ma un difetto dovevo...

6 of us ate here on a Sunday night and had a great meal.

We sampled all the Antipasti, for Primi we had the tortellini, pappardelle with truffle and the fave, and for Secondi we had 3 large costate di manzo. Every dish was full of flavour and expertly cooked.

The Polombara Primitivo di Maduria we drank was so good, that we drank a bit too much!

Service was very attentive and a real bonus for us was that they did not speak English, so we had to practise our Italian. We should also mention cleanliness. Every part of the restaurant was spotlessly clean.

Overall an excellent night out that everyone enjoyed. Thank you, I will return and recommend to all...
