For the food (when it eventually arrived in the correct order) it should be 5 stars. Unfortunately the service is very poor, hence two stars. Took a while just to get some water. The waiter then took our order and didn't write anything down. Unsurprisingly it was wrong when it arrived. The main course arrived for one of us before the starter. Then we waited a total of one hour just to get melon and cold cut starter. The wine came after the main course. If you're gluten intolerant please be VERY aware. They provided the gluten free starter to the person who didn't need gluten free option. The main course pasta that first arrived was clearly not gluten free (it arrived but was sent back because we were still awaiting the starter anyway). When the main course was brought again one hour later, it was a different type of pasta and confirmed as gluten free ... so I can only assume they would have served pasta with gluten the first time. This I think is down to confused service, the waiter not fully listening as they were clearly rushed, and confused as to who required gluten free options as they didn't write anything down. So ... celiac or gluten intolerant please be VERY aware! If you are gluten free and they bring the correct pasta ... yes it is lovely. By this point the restaurant was ready to close, so there would have been little option for another course. They really do need to get the service properly sorted. Then when we came to pay, they provided one bill at the table but changed it slightly when went to pay, as they had forgotten to add on the service charge apparently. When we stated we would pay the original bill, the owner came and I can only describe him as rude, unforgiving and very personal in his opinions. He should be more careful with his words ... yes we could afford to eat in your restaurant (you know what you said to us!) ... and yes we won't be eating there again because you are totally correct that there are "other options" for eating in your town. Good advice. Like we said ... the food is actually really good. But your service, attitude and carelessness let's you down. Sorry to have to write this, but it is only by being honest that things...
Read moreDined here for dinner on 15 August 2025. We were a group of 6 people and had previously made a reservation for a 10pm table.
Even though we had a booking, we still waited at least 30 minutes to be seated. The reason for this wait was due to the table from the previous service not having finished yet - we didn’t mind waiting. However, the service we received was absolutely shocking.
When we placed our order for food, we were asked if we would like the dishes to be brought out all together or if we would like the starters to come out first, then the mains. We opted for the latter but our preference was clearly not taken into consideration / completed ignored. We were STILL EATING the starters/appetizers and there was absolutely no space left on the table for the next course…but the waiters approached our table, bringing the dishes for the next course. They could clearly see that we were not finished AND that there was no room on the table for them to place the next dishes…but they just stood there waiting. One of the waiters started walking back to the kitchen with a pasta dish, which I’m assuming they intended on leaving there until we were ready. Not sure where the disconnect was but I find this to be completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We felt like we were being rushed throughout the night. If the reason was because they were planning on closing the restaurant soon…they should have sat us down at 10pm, as per our reservation, not 30-40 minutes later. If we had been late to our reservation and they were rushing to close, then fair enough but in our instance, that was not the case.
The food was INCREDIBLE though, 5/5 ⭐️
It’s a shame that the...
Read moreDuring my visit to Alberobello, I had the opportunity to dine at a local restaurant, which, despite some hiccups, offered a pleasant experience overall.
Firstly, I must mention that the restaurant didn't open at the time indicated online, people were waiting outside a bit confused. Additionally, when I tried to make a reservation over the phone, they didn't pick up, which further added to the frustration.
However, once seated, my company and I both I ordered the Tagliolini Con Pistacchio E Pancetta (me without the pancetta that comes with it) and we’re pleasantly surprised by its flavor. The creamy pistachio sauce added a unique twist to the dish, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. Although the portion initially looked a bit small it was perfectly filling thanks to it rich sauce.
However, I did find the cream to be slightly lacking in seasoning, confirmed by my companion who had the pancetta with it. It could have benefited from a touch more salt to enhance the flavors and perhaps a hint of acidity and pepper to add some brightness. Despite these shortcomings, the overall experience at the restaurant was enjoyable. The ambiance was charming, the view on the trulli from the terrace is beautiful and the staff, once seated, was attentive and accommodating.
With a little more attention to seasoning and the addition of certain ingredients, this could have been an outstanding culinary experience as I have never tried a pistachio cream before. For now, it stands as a solid choice for those seeking a decent meal in the heart of...
