Belvedere Ristorante — Restaurant in Alghero

Time to pull the stars off this place. We arrived late after, 22.00, but was seated at a table that had to be set up for us. Staff as far as we could tell was mostly busy clearing empty tables and serving drinks orders. After probably 20 min. someone finally came and through some menus at us to look at. Did not ask us at this point if we might want something to drink. After yet another 10 or so minutes we got contact to another waiter (female) who finally took our order. We expressed our discontent with the slow service and she did apologise. And server a couple of snacks on the house alone with our bottle of wine. But now the really long wait started. After appr. one hour both the starter and the main course for one of us came. The starter was ok. But the main (sword fish) look as if it had been fished out of the left-overs from the previous guests and warmed up. And we had to send it back.The other persons main (no starter ordered) five minutes later and was fortunately big enough for us to share. And was ok. As time was close to midnight we did not want to take the chance on a new fish. The staff kept apologising that they were busy but from where we sitting it seemed the worst rush hour was long over. What happened in the kitchen only god know - nothing, it seemed, for an hour. The waiting staff were nice enough but not super attentive. Ex. when they had cleared our table noone came to check if we wanted desert or coffee. Perhaps they figured they had messed up so bad we just wanted ti leave. If your not eating then fantastic for a drink with fantastic attention and service.and Location fantastic overlooking the Sea. Your Hosts Marco behind the bar for a Wonderful Aperol Spritz…. Luka and Flávio and not forgetting Antonio the owner, well if you want a chat or some local knowledge they will give you the time … wonderful people….. showcasing this amazing Town…. Have a nice day !! My worst restaurant experience so far in Alghero, service has come out for no order, we got a small 3 -day bread basket that was hard. We asked for a Battered Mussels was not that bad yet but we asked for a spaghetti carbonara and got spaghetti ala pennet without indicating that there was no spaghetti, for example. Anyway, the risott we got it I cook better as a cook in Budapest where I work in the restaurant for the staff.
