Mama Mea — Restaurant in Alghero

Mamma Mea! Delayed and raw. This turned out to be a very unpleasant night for me and my family. We ordered: the ricotta di pecora (antipasti), the tonno tataki, the tagliata di manzo and the orata in crosta di patate. The tonno tataki and the tagliata di manzo, arrived first. After 30 minutes of waiting considering that two of us already finished their food and there were still two orderings missing, we asked for them. They told us the oven took longer and that we must wait, eventhough one of the dishes was the ricotta which is fresh food. Later on, after 40 minutes, the ricotta and the orata arrive. The potatoes and the fish were NOT COOKED. It was raw fish with uncooked potatoes on top. At this point we told the waiter that we were not going to eat that plate and asked for the bill. When we were about to pay, the waiter kept trying to justify the delay, denied that the fish was not cooked and kept putting excuses over the whole situation and our resentment, instead of apologizing from...

Sadly, today we had an awful experience. Firstly, we waited for 1lt of wine for 30min, after that we finally ordered food for which we waited 1h15min (the waiter mentioned it would be around 30-40min). We ordered 2 types of pasta (Carbonara and something like ravioli). The bacon in Carbonara was awful (really fat and disgusting) - something you can buy in shop. The other pasta was no better. Also we ordered grilled Octopus in garlic sauce which was just awful and horrible (not done and looked like somebody already ate it). Than there was a steak which was cold, not medium done. The side dishes I do not even want to mention it (sooo small). In words - just don’t go there, it is definitely not worth the amount of money spent and it will just ruin your stay in Sardine. The only positive thing was the waiter that tried to make our diner nice and solve the problem, but it did not...

we could not find anywhere that would take us without a booking in alghero this night but we managed to get a table in mama mia. The server was run off his his feet but he still managed to keep us very happy and give us a table, the food was AMAZING, we had the carbonara and i was in love with it we then tried the fried calamari which was so fresh.
