Ristorante Plaça Cívica s.n.c. di Anna Maria Pinna & C. — Restaurant in Alghero

Tip from the beginning: Check your bill before you pay it. The dinner started well. We ordered tuna slices and fish of the day, the waiter recommended a suitable white wine. After the meal we also tried local dessert. All in all the food was good. With small but. We were served fish of the day differently and were allowed to pay for that at the end as well. The price was increased by 5€ than it was in the menu, but it was ok because the waiter pointed it out from the beginning. What I did not like was that fish of the day had to be served with potatoes and tomatoes, so also listed in the menu, but I only got potatoes and was allowed to pay for them additionally at the end, because fish was prepared differently. What? The ways of preparation were suggested to me at the beginning and I chose one of them. Nevertheless, I had to pay for the potatoes as well. We were also charged for tiramisu 3 times even though we only ordered it once. After we pointed it out, the waiter apologized and removed the two overcharged desserts. Not ok! The whole dinner with two main courses, 2 desserts, bottle of water and wine costs us...

Not a choice to have fish. We are travelers and were here to have dinner. We made a very bad experience after ordering sea bass and a salad caprese. The waiter was friendly to other guests he knew, to us he was reserved, he brought a basket with bread, but no oil or anything else to it. Our order came, the salad had 5 slices of tomatoe (Ø 5 cm), on each slice was a thin slice of mozzarella, in the middle a slice of orange and under that some pieces of lettuce. We missed the fresh basil, there was just some dried herbs on it. We could not eat it that way. The fish looked good but came with all scales on. The waiter reordered after a long discussion a scaled one in the kitchen. and brought it some time later. The potatoes were not grilled, just fried in a pan. We wanted to order the fish-plate of mixed fish but they only has sea bass, what is far...

We went to this restaurant on a Monday evening after finding that most of the places on the Old Town sea walls were either full or closed.

At the time there were no outside tables, although there may be later in the season. We were welcomed inside by the head waiter who proved to be very knowledgeable on local wines an their suitability to the dishes in the menu. His excellent English made our only passable Italian unnecessary. My wife had a main with salad and potato side dishes and a dessert, while I had the menu carne (meat). With a bottle of wine and a bottle of still water we felt it was good...
