TO AVOID - LOW PROFESSIONAL
We ask for the availability of a table for dinner and the waiting times for a pan from Alghero, having a flight after a couple of hours. Table available outside and waiting times for paella: "at least 20-25 minutes - it's all fresh and freshly cooked fish". Here the first NEGATIVE NOTES: - for the table outside, a 10% INCREASE is applied to the bill - after 10 minutes we get the Paella for 2 people, times that did not allow cooking at the moment as initially said, but at most a PRE-COOKED PAELLA HEATED ON THE FIRE, or perhaps worse, IN THE MICROWAVE. - the DEFROSTED FISH, with Spanish mussels and some shrimps, really INSIPID. - the 2 portions could be defined at most as 1 large portion. Price: 48 € / person practically I ask to speak with the owner, to whom I point out these disappointments and the lack of professionalism of their staff in describing and selling a product that is different from reality. This type of marketing should not be done to anyone: neither foreign tourists, who may have never seen fresh fish in their life, nor to those born on the sea. At first we are told that they would bring us another portion, included in the price, but after having tasted the dish we ask not to bring it as it is really inedible judging by the quality of the fish. This is confirmed by an acidity of the stomach that we have had for all the following hours. At the time of the bill we are discounted € 20, with the surprise of + 10% .. practically only € 10 discount. Sorry to leave this kind of reviews, but either you change your mentality and the way you treat customers, or sooner or later the rope breaks. The restaurant would have great potential thanks to the view of Capo Caccia at sunset, but it must drastically improve the quality of the dishes offered if it wants to stay within this price range. I put 1 star as a form of encouragement to improvement, otherwise it...
Read morePROS: Excellent location, right in front of the sea, with the whole sunset in view. Food presentation excellent, impepata was good and linguine were good, the rest of the food was a bit of a letdown (see below).
CONS: Long waiting times for the food to arrive (about 1 hour) and the food simply wasn’t very good. The grilled calamari almost felt raw and was barely grilled. The pappa al pomodoro below the calamari tasted off, almost acidic. The cracker on top was stale. Another dish, the grilled octopus we had for antipasti arrived cold (should be tepid) and just strengthened the impression that the food had been just pulled out of the fridge. What surprised me also was that at the end, after we paid, the waiter asked us how the food was and I said not so good, and they didn’t ask for further details and clarifications...when I asked if he wanted any, he just left without saying a word(?)
PRICE: medium-expensive, probably for the location
OVERALL VERDICT: if you want a great location and to take instagrammable pictures of your food, look no further. If you, on the other hand, want a delicious Italian meal and seafood,...
Read moreThe food was genuinely lovely, unfortunately the customer service was extremely poor. My partner and I had our plates cleared within a minute of finishing our meals. About 5 minutes later we both finished our drinks. We were planning on having another round of drinks and dessert, but 15 minutes went by and none of the 3 front of house staff had made any effort to ask us if we wanted anything else. They let us sit with our empty glasses while they cleared empty tables and sat new customers. The restaurant was not particularly busy, and our table was right next to the door meaning the staff were constantly walking past us. We couldn’t help but feel like they genuinely didn’t care about our custom and seemed to make every effort to ignore our signals. After some time, we finally got the attention of the waitress, but at this point we had been waiting 15 minutes for some service and had lost patience, so we asked for the bill and went elsewhere for dessert and...
