Terrible service and disappointing food The staff were literally calling us in as we walked by. There were only a few guests inside, probably because the season was ending. When our food arrived just five minutes after ordering, it was obvious that it wasn’t freshly made. They didn’t even try to pretend they were cooking it. The portions were the smallest I’ve ever seen in Italy, and the taste was below average. It’s clear they don’t care — this restaurant only targets tourists, knowing that nobody will come back twice. After we finished eating, we paid the bill and decided to relax for a while with our drinks (which cost around €12–15 each) to at least enjoy the sea view. But after just five minutes, the waiter came and said, “We’re closing now.” I checked the time — it was 20:53, even though their listed hours say they’re open until 23:00. It was the first time in my life that I’ve been told to leave a restaurant right after paying, with almost full glasses still on the table. Completely unacceptable. Poor service, mediocre food, and zero hospitality. Definitely the worst restaurant experience we’ve had in Italy. Update: They weren't shy about their "service" and included 10% in the bill. Follow-up to the owner’s response:
Unfortunately, I can’t reply directly to the owner, who claims I must be mistaken. However, I have proof of my visit — the payment receipt is clearly shown in my card history from October 22.
I strongly suggest that you, the Angedras family, carefully review all recent guest feedback and verify what’s actually happening in your restaurant. You might want to double-check why a 10% service charge is being added to customers’ bills — perhaps you’re unaware of what your staff are doing.
Your reply only confirms my impression that you’re not trying to improve but rather to justify poor treatment of guests and...
Read moreBeautiful View, But Disappointing Food, Overpriced Wine, and Defensive Management
The view is undeniably beautiful, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.
We considered ordering a bottle of wine, but with prices starting at €30, we opted for individual glasses listed at €6–7. When the wine arrived, the pours were incredibly small and barely a third full. Then we were charged €9 per glass on the bill. For that price, you expect a proper pour and transparency, not a surprise markup and barely a sip.
The burrata was fine, but for nearly €20, it was very basic and definitely not worth the price. The real issue was the paella, which was frankly terrible. Most of the mussels were closed, which is a basic red flag in seafood preparation. They should never have left the kitchen. Serving that dish as-is was either careless or completely unprofessional. The rice was undercooked, the seafood tasted fishy and rubbery, and it lacked any of the freshness or depth of flavor you'd expect from a signature dish.
To be fair, the kitchen did bring out four additional mussels after we mentioned it, but that doesn't fix the fact that the dish was not properly prepared in the first place.
What’s most frustrating is that the restaurant seems to dismiss negative reviews instead of learning from them. Management often responds with long, defensive replies justifying prices and presentation, instead of acknowledging guests' experiences and committing to real improvement. This isn’t about a difference in taste, it’s about quality, safety, and basic standards.
This restaurant has a stunning location, and it could be something special. But right now, it’s resting too heavily on the view, while the kitchen and pricing feel disconnected from the experience. I wouldn’t return...
Read moreWorst dining experience of my life.
From the start, the quality of the food did not match the expectations, lack of flavors and bad taste. My food arrived missing ingredients listed on the menu, and the fourth course for one of our friends arrived late, leaving her waiting while the rest of us ate. We also experienced long delays with drinks, having to repeatedly ask for items we had ordered.
When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the waiter, he said we would need to speak with someone else because he was “too busy.” We then saw him talking to another employee (the manager), who redirected him and completely ignored our table and concerns.
We spoke with several other staff members before the manager finally came to our table. When we explained our complaints, he said there was nothing he could do because we hadn’t addressed the issues directly to him. Even after explaining that we had spoken with other employees, he refused to offer any compensation.
After a long discussion, the manager threatened us with calling the police on us. We paid the full bill, finished our drinks, was just about to leave when the police came to arrest us. The manager just stood next to us and said he wanted the police to arrest us, claiming that we were now “the police’s problem.” The police questioned us further, despite us having done nothing illegal and having a receipt for the full payment. Eventually, the police let us go.
Without a doubt, this was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. The service was unprofessional, the staff unhelpful, and the management’s behavior was completely unacceptable. We would never recommend anyone to dine here.
Three of us have experience working in the restaurant industry ourselves, so we understand what proper service should be like and this was...
