MOMA Restaurant — Restaurant in Alghero

It is quite difficult for me to understand the high reviews of this restaurant, as it left us completely disappointed, even though we were very excited to have dinner here.

The food was mediocre at best. The octopus was okay but too rubbery. The tuna steak was way too salty to be eaten, so after the waiter very rudely told me that this is just how tuna tastes, the owner was more polite and agreed to replace it with the ravioli, which were bland and tasteless. The culurgiones were also underwhelming to say the least. You can have much fresher and tastier food in Alghero, especially for the price point.

To be fair, I assume dining outside is probably nicer, but due to the weather we were seated inside, which is not pleasant at all, as it's unkempt.

Avoid at all cost. On the night before our visit they said us that reservation is needed. We made reservation for couple days after. When we arrived, we were told to wait. People without reservation got tables, while we and other people with reservations did not. We ended up waiting for almost one hour past our reservation time by standing ln the street. Was it worth it? Well, i believe you can guess it already. Tuna was smelling really bad, did not dare to eat. The ravioli was having a bad taste. More like 3.5 honestly. We waited a long time to get a seat along the water (at any restaurant) and finally got lucky enough to score the perfect spot at MOMA overlooking the wall. We couldn’t see the water because the sun had set but great for people watching. My carbonara dish was pretty forgettable but my husband’s seafood pasta was amazing!
