Le Terrazze Ritual — Restaurant in Alzachèna/Arzachena

I dined here in late June with a group of 3 people. We were able to get a 7:30pm reservation with the agreement that we would leave our table by 10pm for later reservations. We were also told there was a minimum spend of € 100 per person. We were fine with this and planned to take our time slowly ordering drinks and dinner as we watched the sunset.

When we walked in, we were wowed by the restaurant. It was beautiful and the views were great. We ordered our first round of cocktails, a bottle of champagne and an appetizer right away. We were enjoying ourselves initially, however, the experience was quickly ruined.

Every 5 minutes our waiter came over pestering us about needing to place the rest of our food order. We continued to tell him that we weren’t ready yet and wanted to enjoy our drinks first, and that we would let him know when we were ready - we still had two hours left!

He continued to pester us every 5 minutes and would not stop while we tried our best to still enjoy the experience. On his last attempt, he claimed each dish would take 20 minutes to prepare and come out one by one so we needed to order right away. We finally gave up and ordered dinner way earlier than we wanted to so he would leave us alone. The entire meal came out 10 minutes later.

Everything was average. None of us mind paying a premium for an amazing meal and experience but this was not it.

Lastly, we ended up staying a while for drinks at the upper bar because we were having trouble getting a ride back to our Airbnb and we saw that our table was never filled...

We booked for dinner, which I was hesitant to do, after reading some reviews. In the end the food is underwhelming and doesn’t hold up to the standard they’re trying to reach. I ordered a tuna as a main, approximately 46 euros, side dishes are extra. It’s a standard price for higher end restaurants, but to my surprise, you almost needed a magnifying glass to find the tuna on the plate. The portion was nowhere near a main, if you put the four small pieces together, you might get a tuna piece of 3cm 9cm. My husband’s pasta was nothing special either. Both dishes tasted pretty bland. The ‘best’ part was the service, though! The girl serving the table was lovely, but when she asked how the food was she noticed my lack of enthusiasm and, on her own accord, informed, what I guess was a manager. When the woman came over and asked if everything was ok with the meal, I explained that the food wasn’t what I expected. Instead of apologising, she concluded that not the food was the problem, but my taste palette was not as developed to appreciate their cuisine. Mind you, I did not ask for a manager, much less to get insulted on top of a mediocre meal. I just agreed that that must be it, because I just wanted to get rid of her, as I never experienced this type of service at better restaurants. As we were still hungry we ordered desert, which was good. Without us asking for a compensation, the woman brought us complimentary mini pastries. One of the worst experiences ever. We went to Le Terrazze Ritual knowing it was their last night of the season, straight after landing, hoping to enjoy a drink. What we got instead was unfair treatment and a complete waste of time.

We arrived at 7:30 PM – exactly their opening time. The hostess told us “after dinner, come back later”. I asked if I could leave my name to secure a spot, she said “No need, you will definitely get in.”

We came back at 10 PM, thinking dinner service was over. She refused us again, saying “come back at 11:30, still serving dinner.” I asked to wait in the lounge/sofa area, but she said it was only for dinner guests. So we had no choice but to wait outside in the car park for almost 1.5 hours.

Finally, we returned at 11:30 PM. This time she said it was full. I was desperate to use the toilet, and only then she let me in, but another staff member literally watched me the entire time like I was under surveillance. Absolutely humiliating.

This is insane – they kept telling us to come back later, and then refused entry in the end. If they had told us at the very beginning there was no chance to get in, we would never have wasted our whole evening here.

Extremely unprofessional, misleading, and disrespectful service. Would never recommend this...
