We came based on a recommendation from our hotel.

The place looked nice, the menu was only in Italian, and the waitress spoke very poor English. A dish we didn’t order arrived, and we thought she had made a mistake. We decided to let it go and eat the dish that came instead of the one we had ordered.

Later, she arrived with the dish we had ordered. We explained what had happened, and she left the second dish with us, saying that the one we hadn’t ordered would be on the house.

Wish I could give a review of the food but unfortunately the manager was so rude to us that we decided not to eat here. Being a party of seven people, we booked 3 weeks in advance. On arrival we showed our green pass. Some were British and did not scan on the first attempts. We were told these were NOT green passes! When trying to explain in our basic Italian that he should scan the second QR code he told us to calm down. Finally he scanned the second QR and it worked. Io e il mio partner abbiamo cenato in questo bistrot nel centro di Aosta, scovato su The Fork, ed è stata un’esperienza che ci ha conquistati.

Il locale ha un’atmosfera elegante e curata, perfetta per una serata speciale. La cucina è di altissimo livello, e si percepisce la grande attenzione nella preparazione di ogni piatto: tutto, dall’antipasto al dolce, era semplicemente delizioso.

Abbiamo iniziato con un vitello tonnato straordinario, seguito dai secondi: polpo e guancia con purea. In tutti e tre i casi, posso dire che difficilmente ho mangiato versioni migliori di queste pietanze. Il tutto accompagnato da un calice di vino valdostano consigliato dal personale, una scelta perfettamente in linea con i piatti.

Per concludere, una tartaten e un gelato alla crema, entrambi impeccabili.
