Fraschetta Osteria Dar Vignarolo — Restaurant in Ariccia

While trying to meet friends in the area we were looking for a place where to experience the real Ariccia and Castello romani food and wine. We didn't really know this place, but we found it as the n1 place in the area. I have to say that I agree with most of the previous reviews. Place has the informal vibe of an old inn/osteria. Two vaulted rooms and an outside space in the middle of a car parking. Service is prompt and very chatty and kind. Now let's talk food: really, really great. We were there in 4. Two adults and two children. Us grown ups went for a mixed antipasto (ham, bufala mozzarella, ricotta, salami, spicy salami, bean and pork skin soup, bruschettas, coppiette, capocollo ham and front and centre the dish ariccia is famous for: Porchetta) plus arrosticini (very long and thin bbqed kebabs made of lamb) and a bottle of romanella wine (red fizzy wine). Children went for a bit of our food plus a bbqed sausages and the omni present chips. Everything was delicious and, if I weren't a glutton, more than enough for us all. Unfortunately I am. I couldn't leave without trying another dish the area is famous for: "pasta alla gricia" which is and old relative of a carbonara and amatriciana. At this point the place was packed full of locals which is always a good sign. Pasta took a bit to arrive but it was superlative. After that coffee and bill. All of this humongous banquet was 50 eu. A bargain. We stayed only a night, but otherwise I would have gladly gone back for more. Food, experience, the whole package....

Fantastic local experience! This gigantic restaurant has three dining halls plus an outdoor terrace and it was completely packed on a Saturday evening. The dining hall decoration is simple and rustic: rows of wooden picnic tables and wooden benches.

They are known for their antipasti. We enjoyed a mix of cold cuts ranging from prosciutto, salame and porchetta, to marinated vegetables and a selection of cheese such as mozzarella and scamozza. Their porchetta - a moist, boneless, stuffed roast pork - was especially delicious. The homemade bread (pane casereccio) was a great accompaniment, chewy in the middle with a lovely crust.

The tonnarelli cacio e pepe were perfectly al dente, rich and creamy and had a subtle pepper kick. It was, however, quite salty. Their local wine was also a delight and paired extremely well with the antipasti.

The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was served very quickly and the price was reasonable. All in all, a great and fun...

Esperienza terrificante. Chiamo nel pomeriggio per sapere se c'era disponibilità per un tavolo da 12, specificando la presenza di 4 bambini e la necessità di trovare posto. Accettano la prenotazione e ci rassicurano. Arrivati sul posto, il tavolo NON c'era. Hanno iniziato a spostare tavoli da tutte le sale per crearlo in una saletta piccolissima e stracolma di gente, con feste di compleanno, una brace sempre accesa, un caldo asfissiante, un caos da mal di testa, impossibile parlare anche con la persona al proprio fianco. Zero sicurezza, non ci si riusciva a muovere, né per il bagno, ne per posare una borsa. Sardine in scatola. Comunque, ci accomodiamo e ordiniamo IMMEDIATAMENTE i primi piatti per i bambini che erano stanchi dopo una giornata fuori. La tavola completamente in disordine, posate gettate al volo al centro non sufficienti per tutti, bicchieri mancanti, 5 tovaglioli. Arrivano tre primi per i bambini, il quarto ha aspettato più di un'ora. Abbiamo reclamato il piatto di pasta per il bambino che ha aspettato con la faccia nel piatto vuoto, pasta che non è mai arrivata! La giustificazione era che "si sono sbagliati i ragazzi non è colpa della cucina". Avrebbero almeno potuto mandare la comanda avanti alle altre per un piatto di pennette al sugo, visto il loro errore. Arrivano gli antipasti RIDICOLI. Chiedo le PESATE per guardare prezzi e quantità. Niente. La giustificazione era che Era tutto finito, ma ancora una volta "non è colpa nostra non ci aspettavamo tutta questa affluenza di martedì". La domanda allora sorge spontanea: perché avete accettato la nostra prenotazione? O, perché quando siamo arrivati non Siete stati onesti dicendo che era finito tutto e che, non c'era roba a sufficienza? INGORDIGIA PURA! Ci siamo dovuti alzare a chiedere e prendere posate, bicchieri. Dopo tantissima attesa estenuante, non abbiamo potuto che alzarci e andare via Senza aver consumato praticamente quasi nulla, lasciando li bevande. Ci hanno fatto pagare tutto fino all'ultimo centesimo anche se non meritavano nemmeno un centesimo. E continuavano a dire che le cose erano pronte sul bancone. Falsità. E anche se fosse, ci saremmo dovuti alzare a prendere anche i piatti delle cose pronte sul bancone? Ci siamo alzati, lasciando bevande e siamo andati a finire la cena in un'altra osteria, pagando da capo coperti, bevande .. Senza parlare del tempo perso, della serata rovinata e del nervosismo. Di osterie ce ne sono tante e tutte valide. Qui, in questo posto, dove ci hanno trattato Senza rispetto, dove l'unica priorità per il responsabile era dire che non era colpa loro (ma chissà di Quale destino che ha voluto avessero tanti coperti che non potevano gestire, come se la gente si accomodasse contro la sua volontà), non ci metteremo più piede. Fosse anche l'ultima aperta su tutta Ariccia. E per la cronaca, l'uovo troppo cotto nella carbonara (uno dei tre primi...
