La Selvotta in Ariccia is a truly enchanting dining experience, set in the heart of the picturesque Castelli Romani region. The house wine was excellent and paired beautifully with our dishes. We began with porchetta alongside a generous selection of dry-cured meats, sott’olio vegetables, cheeses, and fresh mozzarella di bufala. For the main course, we couldn’t resist the classic bucatini all’amatriciana, a dish that proved to be the highlight of the meal. It was rich, perfectly balanced, and truly exquisite, an absolute must-try for anyone visiting.

The staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming, contributing to an overall atmosphere that was both relaxed and memorable.

Non tornavo da un po' di anni e sono rimasto deluso.

Appena arrivati l' accoglienza e l' organizzazione mi sono sembrati buoni, una persona ti saluta e ti invita a sederti, dopo circa 15 minuti di attesa ti portano da bere e ti invitano a fare la fila per il bancone e qui inizia il guaio: ti dicono che "oggi non funziona il bancomat, se vuoi pagare in contanti vai a ritirare alla posta che dista 300 metri" e già mi sono un po' insospettito. Dopo circa 10 minuti di fila arrivi al bancone.

C è un addetto che taglia la porchetta a cui abbiamo chiesto 300 grammi, ma ce ne ha rifilati più del doppio. In effetti due persone che stavano dopo di noi gli hanno chiesto di toglierla e che ne stava facendo una porzione troppo abbondante (forse clienti abituali a cui già è successo?). Inoltre arriva un ' altro cliente porta indietro parte della sua porchetta e che si lamenta, dicendo che gli è stato rifilato gran parte degli scarti del maiale (in effetti non aveva un bell' aspetto, mi è sembrato pieno di grasso) i clienti prima di noi, non avendo molti contanti,durante il pagamento controllavano il conto dei prodotti pesati sulla bilancia, e la ragazza bionda che li serviva gli ha detto " non guardate i prezzi in listino che non sono aggiornati, ora costa tutto di più" (in modo piuttosto arrogante ed antipatico) il conto infatti era più alto dei calcoli che si erano fatti ed hanno dovuto togliere qualcosa per arrivare a pagare in contanti.

Abbiamo, una mozzarella di bufala, circa 300g di olive, 2 pezzi di carciofo sott' olio, due salsiccette di cinghiale, un pezzo di pane, e tutto il resto è la porchetta per un totale di 34€

I prodotti erano tutti di ottima qualità, è stato veramente un piacere mangiare in una fresca serata di agosto sono gli alberi, ma non ci siamo goduti al 100% la serata perché siamo rimasti turbati dall' atteggiamento avaro e disonesto del personale, che ci è sembrato truffaldino.

Le due cigliegine sulla torta sono il fatto che per andare al bagno bisogna fare un' offerta, ma specialmente il cameriere che ci ha portato un conto separato di 10€ per le bevande (mezza bottiglia di vino, un litro di acqua ed una lattina di coca cola) ricordandoci di pagare in contanti, una volta presi i soldi è sparito portando con se anche lo scontrino (ho seri dubbi che quello scontrino sia stato presentato a più di un tavolo quella sera).

Peccato, anni fa era un posto tipico di zona dove potevi mangiare in abbondanza senza stare attenti ad essere fregati, e senza star a far i conti di quanto spendi.
