Re Tartù agli Orti — Restaurant in Assisi

The atmosphere and location of Re Tartu are truly beautiful. We were staying nearby at Antichi Orti for a wedding, so it was a convenient option. The interior is charming and thoughtfully decorated, with dim lighting and a design that evokes the 15th-century ambiance.

Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t quite live up to the setting. We ordered the prosciutto and two pasta dishes, which were fine, but nothing remarkable. For the price point and the prestige of the location, we expected something more elevated. In fact, the food at Antichi Orti far surpassed what we had here.

Service was the most disappointing part of the experience. Despite making our requests clearly in both Italian and English, the waitress appeared confused, and the manager came across as noticeably condescending.

Overall, if you’re seeking a place with beautiful ambiance and historic charm, Re Tartu delivers. But if your priority is excellent Italian food and warm service, there are certainly better options...

Our experience at this restaurant, nestled just outside the picturesque town of Assisi, was nothing short of exceptional. The cuisine perfectly reflects the rich beauty of the surrounding landscape, with each dish crafted to highlight local flavors and ingredients. Paired with a superb selection of regional wines, the meal felt deeply connected to the environment, as if the essence of Umbria itself was captured on the plate. Well last place in Italy that A Woman Is the chef and Genuine what she does. Sophistication, Excellence, Bold, Real and Fresh explosive 🧨 Flavors of food that translates in most healthy delicious food that we ever eat.
