First of all: the staff is friendly, no negativity there. I had a banana espresso which was also pretty good. (Edit: Really, i have no problem with the coffee or it's price. It was a speciality, and i love to try new stuff.)
Then the "bad" stuff: I didn't have enough time to look at the menu, which is my fault, but when i told the waitress i wanted a breakfast, she recommended an omelette instead of the english breakfast menu which was apparently on the menu, and that omelete was served warmed up, not fresh, on a very small piece of bread.
Is it a bad place? Not at all, but i think the rating is way to high for the food i got, and with 27 euro's to expensive too. I should have taken the croissant which was cheaper and looked better.
EDIT: You guys didn't do anything wrong per se, the atmosphere was great, and there isn't really anything wrong with the service, the only thing that could have been better there was a, in my opinion, better suited advice for a breakfast. In hindsight, i should have looked longer at the menu card and i should have told the waitress that i needed more time, that's my fault.
My problem was certainly not about the coffee, which was great, and priced fair.
Where my problem lies is in the omelette being warmed up, served with a way to small slice of bread, and priced at around 8 euro, a price too high for the presentation of the product in my opinion. And i would have been happy to pay more for a better presentation. In fact, i was already fed up with myself for not noticing the english breakfast on the menu when i saw it brought to the table next to us, which looked delicious. The croissants did too.
I probably chose the worst item on the card, but i don't think that omelette was worth more than 2 stars if i take price, presentation and freshness into account. All other items where, but those 2 omelettes made up most of the bill and meal.
I am not able to get back to you guys in person, since i have already left bari, and i made this review lengthy enough so other customers know that the majority of your products are probably great.
For your reaction, i'm changing the service from 4 to 5 stars and the total to 3 stars, since the coffee was indeed good. I won't change the score of the food, because that was the most important...
Read moreSpeciality coffee! Probably the only one in Bari. It's also serving the traditional Italian of course. You can still have your caffeine fix standing at the counter and pay the standard. You are not charged extra for the table service though. A laptop friendly place too! Don't hesitate asking for the wifi. The stuff is the best. Friendly and English spoken.
The standard coffee is made with 50/50 Arabica/Robusta and it's fine. At the time of my visit they had Colombia and Rwanda single origins. Both of them good. I had both as espresso, cappuccino, flatwhite and they were even so nice as to make me iced latte which is not on the menu. You can get a filter too - V60 and aeropress.
Tried some sweets too and enjoyed especially croissants. Not all the flavors are available every day. I also had a sandwich once for lunch and it...
Read moreAmazing cafe right in the heart of Bari. Top quality food , coffee and smoothies. The best part though was the staff ,they were so friendly and helpful. The man I’m guessing was the owner was so welcoming the minute we walked in.We had our 2 year old son who was hungry and tired but he got some food out for him in no time. Then when my son got bored he was entertaining him from behind the counter and cheered him up. Really good breakfast and pastries especially the pistachio croissant and perfect cappuccino. Honestly there are so many cafes in the city centre but this is the best, pay them a visit you won’t be disappointed. Thank you guys ,we...
