Worst service we have experienced in Bari. We ate half of a meal, asked for the remaining for takeaway, and it was thrown away. Instead of reducing serving price by half, they want to remake. This was a presentation dish, requiring 20 minutes to make. Ridiculous, literally arguing that we did not ask for takeaway. Why would we throw out a whole other meal for two people? We aren't those people. Food was great, service was incredibly slow, and poor. Oh one other thing, the drinks weren't full, including draft beers. Overpriced tourist trap. Read the other reviews too

Edit to respond. You were waiting for this review, because you know you, and your staff was in the absolute wrong. If you have it on film, you will also see that we Said takeaway. In a box, takeaway. More than once we said takeaway. Your staff lied about that. We did not try to not pay, you know we paid the full bill. We are not hypocrites, we are not theives, we do not lie. We also do not often write bad reviews, have a look at my profile. We never never requested to have the dish remade. And why would we want to take something made again, when you didn't believe we asked for takeaway leftovers?? We have no idea if it was tampered with or not? Yes, we could have taken it and thrown it away ourselves, but your staff obviously already knows how to do that.

One more thing, why did staff apologize for the mistake if there...

Well, this was with quite some distance our worst Italian food experience in 14 days Italy. While the ambient is to catch tourists like us (nice light, badly uncomfortable chairs), most ratings have to be completely fake in our option. We had tuna tartar, pizza and a pepper steak, grilled vegetables if you name it so. We managed to eat the tartar but wondered a bit about it's high pricetag for bad quality. When we almost finished with the tartar, some completely dry bread was brought, like it was from day before. The steak was... Hard do describe, better to see the picture, 22 € by the way without sides. A souce which had hardly something to do with pepper, cream like way over best before date, the medium steak was raw. The pizza was worse than an average bad German Italian pizza, hard to find a pizza like this in Italy I guess. One day later we had a completely different experience in La Battigia Ristorante, 4 Levels above this one and at the same price level, incredible. That shows how awesome bad this'll one was / is. Even the vine was average, thus it was the best on the table.

Not recommended at all. One star as "no so good" would not fit our experience.

Edit: that kind of response of the owner was obvious, everyone reading needs to scroll though the negative reviews and print it's own picture. The reaction seems to be always the same, no surprise. And...

The restaurant was busy however we got out starter straight away. We waited and waited while everyone else in the restaurant were eating. The staff did not even notice we had been sitting for an hour from when we sat down. I asked the waiter who served us how long the food would be and he just disappeared and 5 mins later appeared with my husband’s meal and told me 2 mins. I waited 10 mins and asked again, my husband was half way through his meal. He disappeared again but did not come back to let me know how long!!! I had to ask again and he said 2 mins. I asked him if he would offer me a free meal or drink he gave me a wine but I had to ask him. Really bad customer service. 😡 I then said to him cancel the meal as my husband was almost finished. He disappeared and said 2 mins but came out and ignored us and just continued with serving. After about 5 mins him and 2 members of staff were arguing in front of all the customers, I wish I could have spoke Italian!! My husband went to pay and they had charged us 2 service charges of 4 euros which is not a lot however we were not going to pay that for the service we had. They argued with him and I had to intervene and they took the 4 off after a while. The whole restaurant was witnessing all of this.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE there are plenty of gorgeous...

Been there 4 times in 2 weeks! I absolutely love it! My favorite place for fishsoup in Bari! I recommend to book a table in advance for the weekends!

We were excited to try the famous Spaghetti all’Assassina – and it truly was an experience! 🍝🔥 The waitress brought out the dish beautifully presented on a tray with a little fire burning underneath, along with bowls of cheese on the side. It looked amazing – like it was made to be photographed. She even said: “You can take a photo first.” 📸 So we did. But right after we took the photo, she took the tray away and came back with the pasta served in a regular plate. No fire, no cheese bowls, no drama. We were honestly surprised – we thought that impressive presentation was how the dish would actually be served, not just a quick Instagram moment. The pasta tasted good, but we were a bit disappointed… especially since the visual part was the main reason we ordered it.
