After meeting Massimo at his other restaurant, La Staffa, we decided to also go to Il Canto to meet up with this wonderful restauranteur and natural wine lover!
Since we had antipasto at our previous visits to wine restaurants we decided to eat a cooked meal this time. We were all craving for good pasta, since we were in Italy! But when we talked with Andrea, Aspreno and Massimo at La Staffa we were told that there were no good pasta-restaurants i Bari.
After the food was served it was obvious that this talk was all too humble. We were all super happy with the pasta that was cooked to perfection! I would especially recommend the cacio e pepe!
To no surprise the wines we had were all amazing and were served in a well thought out order. Massimo is a well traveled connoisseur and lover of natural wine since many years. We were able to catch notes of different producers that were similar to what we drank here and Massimo immediatly knew what we ment and was able to come with fun little anecdotes in response.
Lovely food, great wines and such a passionate host! Our visit to Il Canto was the most fun I have ever had at a restaurant, it felt more like we were invited to Massimos home!

Read moreMassimo' and Flora's restaurant rocks. Organic and natural wines by the glass recommended by Massimo. Delicious verdure dello chef for $10 arrived as a heaping plate of roasted broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and chicory. DELICIOUS. My husband loved the cold Arrosto di Vitello, the mushroom pasta, the gigantic portion of roasted chicken while I dived into the cream of Jerusalem artichoke with chicory dish, a twist on the normal fava and chicory Apuglian plate. Tasty bread and spicy fresh olive oil on every table. Go. Small. Fun. Friendly clientele who chat with you throughout the evening. What more can you ask for in a dinner?
I can't wait to return, and then try his other 2 places, Organic and La Staffa.
We’re been 15-16 times & have yet to be disappointed!

Those rare places where every detail, from the starters to the dessert, from the wine to the atmosphere, even down to the bill, is flawless, without a single misstep. The kind of places whose name instantly comes to mind the moment someone asks for your best recommendations. When I think about it, I can count them on one hand, and without a doubt, Milo, named after its warm-hearted owner, is one of them. It’s an experience where everything falls perfectly into place, a restaurant where every moment is pure joy, for the senses and...
