Good quality fish. Simple sushi/sashimi was good. Other varieties inspired by a fusion with the local cuisine were, in my opinion, questionable. I did not like them. It could be a matter of taste but not what I'd have expected in a Japanese restaurant. The bill felt a bit on the high side but not unreasonable at all for what we had: 53€ pp for several sushi plates (i felt full at the end) including half a bottle of wine. The worst bit was the service: the waiter kind of imposed what we were going to have. He got the general feeling of what we could have liked and we had to 'trust him'. Sorpresa molto negativa. Per tradizione vado da taku ogni San Valentino con mia moglie. Hanno sempre proposto un menù degustazione ottimo, con piatti decisamente particolari e diversi dalle solite proposte giappo. Nel 2019 invece l'esperienza è stata davvero pessima, con un menù banale e scadente nella preparazione. Come entree abbiamo trovato nel piatto un bocconcino di pollo fritto... Freddo! Poi ci è stato servito un carpaccio misto ed una selezione di 4 Roll diversi, tutti abbastanza insignificanti. In alcuni era presente philadelphia e non si sono curati di eventuali possibili intolleranze. Infine due primi: uno definito yaki soba (che dovrebbe essere spaghetti di grano saraceno ed invece erano i classici spaghettini arricciati alla "saikebon" per intenderci) che abbiamo trovato secchi e slegati, quando normalmente è una delle nostre portate preferite. L'altro primo erano degli udon con pistacchi e olio al tartufo. Erano ben piastrati, ma davvero pesanti, forse perché è stata aggiunta un po' di panna per legare, tanto da procurarmi qualche difficoltà di digestione. Infine abbiamo ricevuto un semifreddo "Rocher", potenzialmente ottimo, ma completamente sciolto all'interno della cupola croccante. L'unico elemento che si è salvato è il vino bianco, un gewurztraminer. Il servizio invece è stato esemplare come al solito. Sono davvero molto molto dispiaciuto. Taku è sempre stato per noi un punto di riferimento. L'unica spiegazione che riesco a darmi è che lo chef titolare fosse in ferie o malattia. I wanted to like it. I liked the decor when I first walked in. But waiting 30 minutes to have your order taken (on a weekday, and only 3 tables in sight), and waiting a full hour for only nigiri (for 2 people, not a large party) exceeded the bounds of my patience.
