We came here for dinner very soon after they opened. The place filled up pretty fast, which seemed like a good sign. The service was ok. The atmosphere is nice but the tables are quite small. We ordered two starters, parmigiana and polenta mix. Perhaps it was a miscommunication but I thought that the polenta will be half with the cheese fondue and truffles and the other with another local variation. Instead one half was with egg and bacon and the other with mushrooms. Polenta was ok, not great you could feel the texture of polenta it wasn’t very creamy. The toppings didn’t really make sense. Parmigiana was the best of all the dishes we ordered. For main we got carbonara and scarpinocc (ravioli filled with cheese) with fondue sauce and roasted pumpkin sauce. The scarpinocc was ok, but again the flavours didn’t compliment each other, fondue sauce overpowered everything, couldn’t feel what’s inside the ravioli. Carbonara was the weakest of them all, served with bacon not guanciale. The sauce was too runny and more cheese than anything else, combined with bacon it was extremely salty. Wine was good, perhaps it can...

Read moreWe visited this restaurant during a trip to Italy. The food was okay, but I did not enjoy my main. I chose the Cacio e Pepe which was cooked well enough but overly cheesy. This was more of a cheese pasta dish than Cacio e Pepe. I think they must have included a very stringy cheese as when the pasta cooled it became very congealed/rubbery. The first bite was okay, but I could not eat the whole plate due to the extreme richness. My partner ordered a cold cut beef dish which was served with burrata. He enjoyed this as a light meal.
The bread and olive oil was superb, I definitely could have had more of this. The oil on the tables was very fruity and fresh. If we had room in our luggage, I would have purchased the oil to take home.
The restaurant atmosphere feels very authentic. It was quite empty when we vsiisted around 4pm on Friday, but when we first walked past around 1-2pm ish it looked busy. The staff are polite and very efficient. They also speak English which makes ordering easy.
Overall, I'd probably choose a different restaurant next time I visit Bergamo, but this could just be due to my...
