Mimì Bistrot — Restaurant in Bergamo

This restaurant was recommended by two different people and the food was really excellent. I really enjoyed the rabbit with polenta with local cheeses. The torta caprese was delicious too. The service however was really chaotic and there was some confusion over the ordered dishes, some people in our party not getting the food they ordered in a timely manner (both for mains and for coffee) and it was clear that waiters had mixed something up. I really understand that it's hard to have a consistent service in such a busy place, but I suggest that waiters repeat the order to customers to avoid such mistakes. Also, while waiting, we were promised a table in the shade, but given the table in the sun, and as it was too hot, we asked if it's possible to open the canopy. The staff answered that it's sunny now so people want to sit in the sun. The particular canopy would have affected only our table and it was clear that we didn't want to...

Not the greatest and completely non hygenic Went there around 3 pm - restaurant was almost empty (they have 3 rooms) and they seated us right next to only other couple in the restaurant:) We were 3 metres away from the toilet (see picture) as in that room there is also the restaurants improvised toilet. I dont want to imagine the eating experince for the people that are actually seated next to the toilet wall:))) Also, right at the toilet exit there was a sink (people would wash hands after exiting the toilet) and they would throw waterdrops on the plates they put on the table when you arrive :))) (again - see picture) - super “clean”

Food was average at best and expensive for what is is - parmigianna (you could see it was reheated), vitello tonatto and some bread. Rabbit sauce pasta looked horrible, as if the rabbit sauce was literally from a can and with some invisble parmesan…. Never going there not even if I’m offered free...

I had an early dinner here. With all due respect, considering other reviews on the internet and the prices, I expected more. There was nothing really wrong but food was average and didn’t impress me. I ordered melanzane parmigiana and a rabbit. Parmigiana was “ok” but I had much better and tastier one in the other restaurant in Bergamo the next day. And much cheaper. Rabbit was good but nothing special. I travel a lot and I am quite familiar with Italian cuisine but this food was missing something. Maybe I had high expectations or maybe it was a bad day.
