From start to finish, our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing due to the behaviour of one specific server. What should have been a pleasant evening out turned into a very uncomfortable and hostile situation.

For no reason whatsoever, this server - who had dark hair, scruffy beard and tattoos on arms - openly tried to constantly intimidate and provoke us, unbelievably behaving in an unusual and bullying manner. This was all because he insisted that we give extra room to a table next to us by sitting opposite each other instead of side by side, even though the set up of the table allowed for this. We of course agreed to rearrange ourselves without a problem and agreed that there wouldn’t be a lot of room, but we would do this when the guests arrived on the table next to us, because it was empty at the time (and by the way, those people never arrived and it continued to be empty, even though this guy told us they already arrived as soon as we sat down…).

His approach throughout was completely unprofessional, rude and disgusting. Some examples are him trying to intimidate us by staring at us for several minutes, standing over our table looking at us, even physically moving our plates with food on to different positions on the table. We did our best to ignore him, to not give him the attention he so desperately wanted, but it did make us feel unwelcome from the start and we were very close to leaving the food untouched, after confronting him directly about his unreasonable and harassing behaviour.

If I could rate the service, it would be a -100.. I have never in my life experienced what I did this evening. The food wasn’t too bad, though the rabbit dish was unfortunately dry but it still tasted delicious. Overall, I would not recommend this place based on...

The place is nice and the food was really great, but the waiters are very rude and unfriendly. We asked the receptionist if we could sit upstairs as it was raining outside and downstairs was too cold for us and he said yes. However, when we got upstairs and asked for a table for two, one of the waiters just told us to go downstairs even though there were only two tables that we busy and the rest of them were empty and did not have any reservation cards on them. We told him downstairs is too cold for us and the receptionist said we can sit upstairs if we want and he proceeded to sit us at a table only to open the giant window you can see in the picture below a few minutes later, after we already ordered and got our drinks. The pizza was not cut in slices and it was very difficult to cut so we asked him if they could do it in the kitchen, as they may have the special pizza knife. He just said "you have a fork and knife". 😑 He did took the pizzas to the kitchen to be cut after we insisted we couldn't do it in the plate with the fork and knife we received. After that, we asked another waiter for some extra peperoncino and he came back with olive oil with peperoncino and asked if we wanted the oil or flakes. We said we'd prefer the flakes and he angrily slapped his foot before going back to the kitchen to bring the thing we actually asked for. All in all, we waited for a very long time with the empty plates in front of us just to be told we have to pay at the reception when we asked for the bill - we could have saved at least 15 minutes if someone would have come to the table to pick-up the plates after we finished eating. All in all, I do not recommend this place. We felt very unwelcome and even though the food was good and the building looks very nice, we wouldn't...

The main advantage is the climatic building and a very large terrace. Prices worth what the restaurant serves. Appetizer polenta with anchovy fillets, fresh goat cheese from Cà Morone and oil-packed eggplants with onion omelette - I know other polenta more buttery and more Parmesan cheese, but that's the only remark about this dish. Delicate goat cheese that fits perfectly with the whole. Very tasty. Carne salada from Bergamo with Agri from Valtorta cheese, artichokes and mixed salad - exceptional meat. It is worth a try. Casoncelli alla bergamasca Meat and vegetable ravioli with butter, sage, Parmesan and crispy bacon. I ate these dumplings for the first time, very tasty, I'm used to more moist dumplings and less dense stuffing. But that's not a complaint - maybe that's how it should be. Char In sage bread crust with mashed peas and potatoes - I always wanted to try freshwater fish in Italy and here was the opportunity. Unfortunately, she did not convince me. Baked shank with thymeand seasonal vegetables - good, but too much fat for me (for people who care about their line and cholesterol). The toasted crust adds flavor. Not much thyme as advertised on the menu. The very efficient service for such a large place deserves praise. Very good oil, wine and bread...

If you are the type of person who looks for the not-so-fancy-but-extremely-good restaurant, there it is in Bergamo. We went there with my girlfriend yesterday, and we’ll probably go there again. It is a nice, busy restaurant that serves local recipes (such as the Polenta). Loads of locals go there, hence it must be very good also for them. We had to waIt about 20 minutes to get our table (it was lunchtime on a Saturday before holiday. I was expecting more waiting time), but In the end we sat on a nice wooden chair and bench, in a cozy environment. Staff were nice, asking us what we wanted just at the right time. What made it great was food (we were there for that, of course). If you order an single appetiser, a single first course and a single second course for two people, you’ll go out feeling stuffed. Antipasti was really good. A mixture of several types of salami from there, ham, pancetta and a bit of polenta. Casoncelli (typical pasta from there) were awesome and perfectly cooked. Polenta with mushrooms were insane, and I usually hate mushrooms. How much did we spend for everything? Less than 50€ total, and we also got a bottle of water, bread, coffee. Overall, prices were honest for what you get. Trust me, if you happen to be in Bergamo go there. It worth every single minute.
