Ristorante Pizzeria Byron — Restaurant in Bergamo

So this was a whole new experience for me. There was a whole separate menu for gluten free! Two page’s. All kind of other allergies where singed with a number (nuts, lacto, lupine etc) When the waitress checked if i had a gluten allergy and brought me new curterly with a bun, both in a separate back. I was touched by this because I haven’t experienced something like this in the Netherlands. The waiter recommended my friends to order something gluten free as well so I could taste there dish and he had good recomandations for a disch and wine. They even brought a gf focasia for me. I ate the ravioli and loved it! If I remember correctly it was corn flour with quinoa flour. It was a little bit on the salty side but really good. For dessert there was 1 option without cow milk. I really hoped they had a tiramisu vegan or without cow milk. But I really enjoyed the lemon sorbet ice cream and drank a limoncello with it. It was al terrific!!

We really had fun with the waiter. He had a good humor. It was a crowded evening but everything was perfectly on time. But we didn’t understand why they took the plates one by one, even just after someone was finished at hour table. Even when one of was just eating the last bite.

I will definitely come back for a gf bear, the vegan terra cotta or an other gf dish.

Absolutely fantastic!!!! I was in Bergamo on a short visit and two hours into it, I was at Byron having the cheesiest / most tasty pizza I have ever had. It was like an Eat, Pray, Love moment. Just myself, pizza and a glass of wine. I have no words for home made pistachio ice cream, cause I think my soul left my body when I tried it! The ice cream was so rich and flavorful and it wasn't even icy/cold!!! Service was impeccable! Thank you to the waiter Paulo for being so friendly and advising me on the type of pizza and local wine, I had such a lovely evening! The place is so authentic and such an experience if you're visiting Bergamo!! Thank you to the pizza drivers for the lift back to the hotel, as I didn't realise you couldn't get a taxi so easily after closing hours in Bergamo!!! I have recommended this place to my other colleagues visiting...

Cambio recensione abbassando il voto Per quanto riguarda pizze e panini rimangono comunque buoni, soprattutto senza glutine ed il prezzo per quanto alto è in linea con altri senza glutine. Il problema è il menù, per quanto completo con allergeni etc, purtroppo non era (agosto 2023) aggiornato, molte cose con scritto "senza soia" la contenevano e per fortuna che essendo paranoico ho chiesto molto bene per sicurezza, cose tra cui l'impasto della pizza, visto che le allergie sono una cosa seria ed erano passati mesi dalla volta prima che c'ero stato ed ancora non era stato aggiornato mi sembra abbastanza grave. Successivamente abbiamo optato per un risotto (senza glutine, soia e lattosio, che ammetto non è una richiesta molto comune) ed una paella.

La paella era molto salata, mezza carbonizzata sul fondo, zero gusto di zafferano (che mi ha quasi messo il dubbio che non fosse colorante al posto della suddetta spezia) e con pesce gommoso ed insapore.

La parte peggiore però è stata il risotto, se la paella era salatissima, quello sembrava fatto di sale puro, i gamberi erano l'unica cosa che è stata possibile mangiare e che comunque non erano particolarmente buoni, inoltre era giallo, anche se era stato chiesto senza zafferano (ma come per la paella non c'era gusto di quello, di conseguenza non ho idea di cosa fosse)

Apprezzo lo sforzo della cameriera che s'è sentita un sacco di richieste difficoltose per via dell'allergia lattosio/soia (che con un menù aggiornato si sarebbero evitate), ma sinceramente non mi sento di consigliare a gente con varie allergie di mangiare qui.

Oltre al costo abbastanza alto sia della paella che del risotto (che neanche nonostante gli si sia detto che era immangiabilmente salato non c'è stato neanche chiesto scusa o almeno scontato.

L'ambiente accogliente, ma un po' complicato se si hanno disabilità tipo sedie a rotelle, c'è anche un mini laghetto coi pesci ed una gabbia con gli uccellini (che purtroppo erano morti).

Un po' difficile trovare parcheggi gratuiti in zona
