Disappointing Experience Despite Friendly Staff

We stopped into Il Bricco d’Oro, a small bar in a big city, assuming it must have some strengths to have survived in such a competitive scene. There was a cocktail board and even a cocktail-making stand inside, which raised our expectations.

Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. We asked for a mojito—there was no mint. I asked for an alcohol-free beer, which isn’t exactly a novelty these days—none in stock. To be fair, the barman was friendly and offered to make me a non-alcoholic cocktail instead, which was appreciated. However, it tasted like nothing more than orange juice topped with lemonade.

We also ordered a Caipirinha, only to be told it would be made with lemon instead of lime. I’m starting to think limes are the real shortage here—not the mint. At that point, it seemed like even sugar was missing from the mix.

The drinks were poor, and the final bill—€15 or €17, I can’t remember exactly—felt ridiculous for what we got. Overpriced and underwhelming.

The only real positive was the staff, who were pleasant. But the place badly needs some training, basic bar ingredients, and a bit of initiative. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it and won’t...

Eravamo di passaggio festeggiando Un addio al celibato/nubilato io e la sposa.. ovviamente la sposa aveva diverse decorazioni, ma abbastanza sobrie rispetto alle solite che si vedono in giro, dopo un primo tentativo di richiesta di utilizzare il bagno.. siamo ritornati per una forte esigenza dello stesso motivo, ma questa volta riconoscenti della consumazione.. io baristi al bancone su una 30entina di anni, non appena ci rivede si rivolge con modi sbagliati, dicendoci “un altra volta, avanti riproviamoci” In un primo momento non rispondo per non creare ulteriore disagio, già creato dal bar Man precedentemente.. dopo prima di uscire ho indicato al barista, che in un secondo momento avrebbe potuto rivolgersi in modi migliori, anche essendo riconoscente del lavoro e del impegno.. inizia in altra discussione che non si vedeva fine, QUANTO IL BARISTA INIZIA AD INDICARCI CHE NON AVREBBE ACCETTATO CONSIGLI DA NOI, IN QUANTO IL PROBLEMA ERAVAMO NOI FACENDOCI SENTIRE FUORI LUOGO PER IL NOSTRO ABBIGLIAMENTO.. ripeto ne ho visti di peggio, decorazione unico frontino con il membro, una fasci con scritto addio al nubilato e il velo.. ci siamo sentiti al quanto scoraggiati da questa brutta esperienza che ha particolarizzato la nostra giornata in...

Friendly service, waiting times can sometimes be a bit on the high side but is to be expected in a one man bar. The price/quality and service make more than up for it.
