Ekopollo — Restaurant in Bologna

We came because it has good reviews on google (on this very page). After eating here, I can say that either we did not eat at the same place as the other reviewers or they do not know what acceptable (not good, acceptable) food is.

First of all, this is not a restaurant but a takeaway with 5 chairs and about 5 square meters of space. A dump, basically. This needs to be specified as it is not obvious neither from the reviews nor the description of the place and we expected at least some tables and chairs, which is not the case.

More importantly, the place lacks basic hygiene. Seeing how the chicken is portioned is enough to make your appetite go away.

The chicken had a weird taste, I hope because of the herbs and not because it was rotten. The potatoes were the same as my grandmother would feed to the pigs: cut the potatos in 4 without peeling them, add some corn flower and give them a good boil. The rice tasted like it was prepared by a 40 year old bachelor. The garlic sauce comes in 5 liter plastic buckets, it is 100% chemicals and has no resemblance to garlic whatsoever.

Appalling. If this is the best chicken in Bologna, I pity those...

Esperienza a dir poco incredibile! È raro aver la fortuna di trovare un posto come questo, un locale piccolo ma davvero ben curato, il personale accogliente e desideroso di soddisfare con fierezza ogni sfizio del proprio pubblico. E se parlo di pubblico e non di clientela è perché non è un semplice pasto, ma piuttosto un vero e proprio spettacolo per gli ammiratori del genere, il tutto adornato da ingredienti di qualità sublime dalla provenienza certificata. Le porzioni sono abbondanti e vengono incorniciate da una buona varietà di salse squisite, sempre di loro produzione (consiglio quella aglio e zenzero) e da contorni di verdure, anche panate (consiglio patate al forno). La qualità del pollo va al di la di qualunque altro posto io abbia provato in vita, la carne è tenera e davvero saporita, sia arrosto, che al forno, che fritta, senza unto e senza essere pesante. Tutto questo è merito dell'evidente passione ed esperienza del titolare a comando, persona davvero calorosa e ospitale. La cosa che più mi ha lasciato sconcertato è l'onesta del prezzo, che a parer mio data la qualità poteva essere parecchio maggiore, mangiando tre portate abbondanti e contorni(porzione pollo al forno con patate, verdure gratinate, porzione da tre pezzi consistenti di pollo fritto, e porzione di 1/2 pollo arrosto, con salse e acqua) abbiamo speso appena 20€ in due. Nel complesso un faro di speranza nel buio mondo...

Please don't go there if you want to ruin your day.

Terrible service. Horrible food. No good hygiene. Everything is deep fried in the SAME, OLD OIL — a recipe for atherosclerosis.

No potential at all here.
