Gelateria Delle Moline — Restaurant in Bologna

I’m genuinely shocked this place is still open. I tried the mango and it literally tasted like detergent—no trace of actual mango flavor. Just foul. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was disgusting.

What made it worse was the owner's complete indifference when I pointed it out. No apology, no concern—just shrugged it off.

You can tell something’s off the moment you walk in. On the left, there’s a tub of melted “granita” that looks like it’s been sitting there for days. It’s unappetizing and honestly concerning from a hygiene perspective.

Seriously—this place should be inspected. I wouldn’t feel safe eating...

One of the best ice cream in town. A small spot with few tables outside (I normally get my ice cream and walk). The place is nice, in the style of the simple, traditional ice cream shops, but it's really the product they sell that makes the difference. Don't expect a large variety of flavours, they may have a dozen or so, but their taste is HUGE, and the texture is fantastic. Very easily reachable in 5-10 min walking from the very center of the town, it is definitely worth a detour. Delicious, traditional gelato just a short walk from where we stayed in Bologna. The ice cream was rich and creamy, and the wide range of flavors made choice difficult but rewarding! I plumped for Straciatella and Pistachio, and my Dad for Caramel and Praline, and we were really pleased with the flavour, texture and the sheer refreshment on a hot day.
