Terrible experience. They insisted our reservation wasn’t confirmed even if I received three confirmation emails from them and they refused to take responsibility (saying: “it’s not your fault, but it’s not ours either…), saying that I should have called to confirm or replied to the email even if the emails I got literally said “reservation confirmed”.

After finally seating us, we then waited 1 hour for a cold starter. We had ordered a fixed menu and still waited for an eternity. When we complained after waiting a further 30 minutes for the hot starters, they arrived cold and clearly reheated (not well) in the microwave. Our pasta dishes then followed but unfortunately the pasta was overcooked, and then finally our main dishes, which were good. The raw ingredients were good quality but there was clearly a huge problem in the kitchen who were slow, losing orders and rushing dishes… which ruined the end results. I especially expect better standards when most if not all of the patrons ordered the fixed menu which was composed of a choice between three options for pasta, mains and dessert (starters were identical). Which obviously simplified the orders for the kitchen. Perhaps worst of all, there was no effort made to check our vaccine passports.

Our waiter was nice, apologised and was doing the best he could (he did offer us the second bottle of wine on the house), but the head waiter and/or owner made no effort to make amends.

Two stars, one for the raw ingredients and main dish, and one for the waiter. The two saving graces of a place that I won’t be...

Tucked away in the heart of Bologna, Ristorante Teresina is almost invisible—hidden down a narrow alleyway that you could easily walk past without realizing there’s a restaurant there at all. But once you step inside, the noise of the tourist-packed streets quickly fades, and you're welcomed into a peaceful, authentic atmosphere that feels like a true escape.

For appetizers, I ordered mussels, mozzarella bites, and the charcuterie board. The mussels were fantastic—they were served in a delicious broth and were full of flavor. The mozzarella bites were simple yet perfect, served with tomato and olive oil. The charcuterie board was delicious as well.

For my main course, I had spaghetti with clams. This was by far my favorite dish. The spaghetti came in a generous portion and was served in a light sauce that was extremely tasteful. The sauce really accented the dish.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Ristorante Teresina. From the second I walked in, I knew the meal was going to be fantastic. The welcoming atmosphere and kind hosts helped elevate the experience. The combination of exceptional service, atmosphere, and delicious food made this meal one of my favorites during my time in Bologna. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an...

I read reviews online. Mostly good, a few negative ones. I saw the quiet alleyway dining and thought this was the place. We made a reservation but came early. The manager/ director got us our table quickly without issue. We started with a plate of Salumi and meatballs. The mortadella was the best I have ever had. The meatballs were served in a ragu that just covered the meatballs.  We ordered a steak, tortellini,  rabbit, tagliatelle in bolagnese, and a cutlet. It was above our expectations. The cutlet was pork which took us by surprise but we happily ate it and ordered another steak for that member of our party.

The sommelier suggested a Sangiovese from Bologna. It paired well. Notes of cherry, plum, pepper, leggy and tannic with the bolognese it was a symphony of flavour.

Service was attentive,  kind and engaging. We felt lucky to be there and we were treated like a new friend. We communicated our issue with the cutlet, and it was resolved quickly. we talked about where we lived and where we had been. The manager was engaging all while directing the other servers

We wish we had room for dessert, but the portions were ample and we filled up quickly.

Great experience for our first night in Bologna.  Gastronomic celebration!

Grazie Mille...

Really great ! ++ And, Bologna, a city on the move, nice ++ February 2019 : No traffic by cars on Sunday (closed), and the Drummers of the Peace Movement +++ Urbanita ! Ask to be seated in the main room (so to say) of the restaurant. Very delicious food ! It is like at places "gone for a longtime". Tortellloni in brodo, for example. Delicious, again, and it is a pity that Bernardo Bertolucci died in 2018, his father being a Poet ! Hotel, if needed : Go to Corona d'Oro, very close , same street, but you have to book in good time. Otherwise expensive ! I took photographs of the Towers of the 11th century, and go to the Central place. And, close to restaurant and hotel, wonderful food market. What a fish dealer. ++ Bologna, including the University, and all the left wing People, is a great City. No need to look too much at Berlusconi TV, or to Matteo, appearing on TV. Very close to restaurant is, at the central Piazza, a wonderful church. Have a good "dolce", go to the church, and reconcile with reality. Look at the car, so to say, of Esercito ? Who will aussault the church ? Will help . Another Tortellini in brodo at Teresina, helpful.

We had dinner at the place because it was recommended to us. The experience was not good: the service was akward and the food was terrible in the most courses (the tartar we had for antipasti was nice). The place was full, so we waited longer than expected for our courses. The meatballs were boring. The pasta was okay, but one was overly salted. The meat was dry, the potatoes we're partly just hard. The waiter twice just dropped the cutlery on the table and once put a plate on a crumpled up napkin so that the dish was close to fall from it. The place fills out a beautiful small alley, the ambiente was good. If you like food don't go there, if you just want to drink wine in a pretty place and chew on something while doing so you can give it a try.
