La Salsamenteria Bologna — Restaurant in Bologna

Stopped in as part of a food tour, so the experience was probably different than it would be if we had just popped in. As a result, the service was super friendly and attentive.

This was the last stop on the food tour and it seemed like it was the last stop for other groups too. It's certainly on the circuit for food tours, which normally may bother me. But they did a fine job moving everyone along, having the table prepared ahead of time, and the food was actually pretty good. Stopped in for bolognese and while this just in general is not my favorite dish, they did a pretty nice job of it here.

I never give 1 star reviews but this deserves one. After ordering 2 drinks, one came with a small insect inside. Obviously we ask to change it. After it's taken back to the bar, the examine it and then simply remove the bug and give the same drink back to us!

I told them it is unacceptable and instead of apologising they blame us, "Oh it fell inside after we brought it to you". Not true and even if it was does that mean it's ok to serve it right back to us and pretend it is a new drink? Completely uncassanitary and disgusting.

I came here because I’ve heard so many good reviews about the place and I understand why: the location is really nice, especially for tourists, near the center but in a street without noise, really nice and romantic!

The food was also good but not as I expected. The portions were smaller than usual and the pasta (homemade and the center point of this restaurant) wasn’t the best I’ve tried in Bologna..

I give 3 stars to this experience because everything was fine, but not good as I expected. And the price... 2 Small portions of first course, 1 dessert, 2 glass of...
