I stopped by Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato in Bologna on a scorching hot day, and it was exactly what I needed. The gelato was absolutely out of this world—rich, smooth, and everything you’d hope for from authentic Italian ice cream. I had caramel and another flavour I sadly can’t remember, but both were incredible. I chose not to add any toppings because when the ice cream is that good, I like to enjoy it as it is.

What made the experience even better was the service. Emmanuel was so kind, charismatic, and patient. He took the time to help me choose, and to top it all off, he added two chocolate coins to my gelato—just as a sweet gesture. It’s small things like that that really make a place memorable.

The shop itself was a welcome escape from the heat—cool, clean, and inviting. They also have a great selection of chocolates if you’re looking for gifts or a little something extra for yourself. All in all, a wonderful experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Bologna and craving...

FRIENDLY SERVICE ! After a fun filled day on Saturday enjoying the fruits of Bologna we headed back to our apartment for a short reboot. Our delicious pasta lunch went down a treat but we missed out on dessert. At around 3pm we walked to this gelato shop which we had spotted earlier in the day. PRETTY BUSY ! Chiara the sweet manager served us when it was our turn. We each bought gelatos in gourmet sugar cones plus a Dark Chocolate and Whole Hazelnut Bar ( it was wickedly delicious later on ). Ice cream is fattening and unhealthy but we love it because of the taste. In this case I had to risk becoming less healthy and fatter but was not rewarded with the deliciousness I hoped for The gentleman behind the counter looked like he was suffering from severe depression. I tried to coax him out of it with no success. The presentation of the shop was immaculate and cannot be faulted It’s just the disappointment of the ice cream.
