Oro Brescia — Restaurant in Brescia

It’s probably my fault for not knowing the difference between pizza (which I thought I ordered) and whatever this is, but THIS is definitely NOT pizza. Which kind of blows my mind considering that I traveled over 5000 miles to get here… in ITALY, the country where pizza was invented, only to taste the worst example of it I could even imagine. I mean.. wow. The fries were ok, but those are pretty hard to mess up. I had fries that were just as good from a vending machine in Ravenna (see additional photo). Even worse than the ‘pizza’ was the service, which was non-existent. I sat with an empty beer glass all night, until my so-called ‘pizza’ thing arrived, and even then I wasn’t asked if I wanted another drink to go with it. Moral of the story? Do not eat or drink here. Ci siamo fermati io e il mio ragazzo a fare un aperitivo, chiedendoci come mai i prezzi dei drink non fossero esposti fuori dal bar come tutti gli altri piatti che offrono, arrivati al tavolo abbiamo scoperto il motivo. Ma tralasciando i prezzi dei drink, quando la cameriera ha preso i nostri ordini ci ha parlato (cito testuali parole) di "3 tipi di aperitivo differenti": il tagliere di salumi, i formaggi e la pizza. Noi due, non essendo mai venuti a fare l'aperitivo in questo posto, abbiamo scelto la pizza. Poi lei ci fa pagare al tavolo subito dopo l'ordine, e abbiamo scoperto che la cosiddetta pizza era una pizza gourmet a 16€ che non rientrava assolutamente nell'aperitivo come ci aveva fatto intendere lei. Abbiamo speso un totale di 35€ in due. Non critico i prezzi, che purtroppo possono essere elevati in centro a Brescia, e nemmeno il provare a vendere di più, in quanto lo farebbero (e lo fanno) tutti. Critico il modo in cui hanno approfittato del fatto che non avevamo mai fatto l'aperitivo in questo bar per farci pagare qualcosa che ci hanno palesemente detto che fosse incluso, e invece non era così. Per non parlare del fatto che poi, guardando la sezione cibo del loro menù, abbiamo scoperto che non solo la pizza gourmet non era inclusa, ma anche che ci hanno venduto quella che costava di più, senza darci la possibilità di scegliere quella che preferivamo (ovviamente senza specificare il prezzo della cosiddetta pizza). I tried their pizza with prosciutto and burrata. All of the ingredients were delicious but there was way too much pizza dough, so I ended up leaving most of the crust on the plate. The salmon avocado toast is a nice and budget friendly snack. The location on the Loggia square is very good and the small interior space has air conditioning. All the waiters are very nice.
