Antica Osteria La Sciabica — Restaurant in Brindisi

Excellent evening out for a couple’s date night. A small and quaint restaurant off the main harbor. Osteria La Sciabica didn’t disappoint with the service and meal. Once seated, we were quickly given warm bread and slices of carved meat.

The menu was in Italian, but thanks to Google Translate, it was easy to overcome (An opportunity for the restaurant to invest in QSR code menus).

All the meal sections that came were really good and large portions. The dessert 🍮 and ice cream 🍨 were freshly made and you could taste the flavor.

Had a couple of nice bottles of 72100 Negromaro.

The ambiance is really nice and the rest rooms are extremely cleaned and well maintained.

Bel ristorante di pesce sul lato più tranquillo del lungomare di Brindisi, lontano da altre parti più chiassose e dunque molto apprezzabile. Allestimenti interni interessanti e pieni di fascino ma ovviamente vista l'estate abbiamo mangiato fuori dove l'ambiente è marittimo e accogliente. Menu che offre sostanzialmente pesce o pizze (con forno a legna ben visibile nel locale). Le pizze agli altri tavoli avevano un aspetto invitante ma abbiamo optato per il pesce. Davvero ottimi gli antipasti con un tortino di patate e polpo molto genuino, delle ottime alici marinate con la cipolla e una catalana di gamberi e pomodorini veramente fantastica anche grazie al basilico freschissimo. Gli antipasti erano davvero appetitosi quindi li abbiamo divisi tra noi tre con piacere. A seguire, un sarago alla griglia cotto perfettamente e di dimensioni secondo me adeguate ma che qualcuno particolarmente affamato forse avrebbe potuto trovare poco abbondante. Per chiudere i dolci, piuttosto dimenticabili. Il mio semifreddo al tiramisù era buono, senza infamia e senza lode. La crema catalana ordinata dagli altri era praticamente liquida e non era stata eseguita correttamente (se scaldi la terrina, ti si scioglie tutto). Abbiamo fatto presente la questione alla cameriera che ha sparecchiato il tavolo e la risposta un po' brusca ci ha fatto intendere che riteneva la cosa normale poiché "facciamo tutto noi". Detto questo, per me i dolci non sono molto importanti perché in un posto del genere mi aspetto di mangiare dell'ottimo pesce ed è quello che è successo. Nota di merito al cameriere che ci ha servito, credo uno dei gestori, persona estremamente accogliente e premurosa. Directly at the bank of the port of Brindisi. Great atmosphere, totally awesome food from fresh ingredients and very friendly and helpful service. After we got seated we got hors d'oeuvre - homemade bread and salami thinly sliced on oldschool manual slicer. Then we had the 7-8 apetizers, absolutely delicious.
