Römerkeller Meran — Restaurant in Burggrafenamt - Burgraviato

We went to the Römerkeller in Meran and we were impressed with the gorgeous seating area downstairs. A nice wine cellar feeling to it.

This restaurant offers a range of food, from typical Italian, to steak house type items, as well as the local regional specialties. Our party dipped into all of those food categories and everything was perfect and tasted great. The interesting thing though was the pizza. Their pizza here has to be on a short list for the thinnest pizza crust in all of Italy. I've been all over the country and have never seen it thinner than here. Hands down... Anyway, their pizza was excellent, despite less dough :) I really loved it.

Il miglior locale dove mangiare la pizza in centro a Merano. Personalmente, spesso lo preferisco anche ai ristoranti di lusso presenti in città per via della gentilezza del personale e dell'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Inoltre, da Römerkeller, andrete sempre sul sicuro. Troverete sempre aperto, anche fino a trada serata e se non avrete prenotato i ragazzi dello staff troveranno un tavolo per voi. Ovviamente, in giornate movimentate, come per esempio i giorni della festa dell'uva, del winefestival, e nei periodi di turismo intenso dei mesi di agosto e dicembre, vi consiglio di prenotare specialmente se siete in tante persone. Il locale vanta di un'ampia offerta di pietanze, che spaziano dalla classica pizza alle tagliate, dai piatti di mare alle insalate vegetariane per arrivare fino ai numerosi desserts e ai contorni. Le pizze possono essere ordinate anche nelle versioni senza glutine o con diversi tipi di impasto. Questo, a mio avviso, è un enorme punto a favore della catena Römerkeller, che in questo modo batte tutta la concorrenza nell'ambito della pizza sul territorio altoatesino. Anche le altre pietanze sono sempre fresche e servite, a seconda della tipologia, anche con del pane fresco. I condimenti sono di buona qualità con un ottimo olio d'oliva extravergine. All'occorrenza si può chiedere anche il peperoncino. La location è carina e curata. Essendo in pieno centro si trova in un edificio che credo sia sotto tutela delle belle arti. Per questo, i bagni si trovano in un ingresso indipendente attaccato al ristorante. Il tutto è comunque sotto i portici, quindi non vi bagnerete in caso di pioggia. D'inverno o nelle giornate in cui il locale è pieno talvolta apriranno la cantina che è davvero suggestiva, oltre che essere molto curata nei dettagli. Ho mangiato spesso di sotto, ed è stato sempre piacevole, in quanto è come un locale scavato nella roccia. La terrazza si trova invece in un cortile interno, tra gli edifici storici del centro. Una parte di essa è anche per fumatori e fumatrici e questo lo trovo anche un punto a favore, che fa sentire ogni persona a proprio agio. Mi permetto di scrivere questa recensione perchè da Römerkeller negli anni ormai ci avrò mangiato sicuramente quasi un centinaio di volte. Complimenti soprattutto allo staff. Molto attenti ai dettagli e sempre pronti a servirti. Si vede che lavorano volentieri e sono felici quando gli ospiti escono dal locale con il sorriso. The place is quite nice, atmosphere is great (downstairs is amazing), but they lack in two key points: service AND FOOD!!! First off: I am a proffesional meat cook, I know my cuts, I know how to make them, I know how to butcher them correctly.

I ordered a Picanha and can say (without a doubt) it was NOT the right cut! it was hard, dry and badly cooked! I complained about it and all the waiter could say is „sorry“, even though I told them I WAS a cook.

they say you cant judge if you dont give them a second chance…. so I did…. and the same happened! This time they gave me the right cut (ribeye) but badly cooked (too little for the quality they had), and I had to send it back!!!! Guys…. stay away from this place.
