Ristorante Bagni Tiberio — Restaurant in Capri

Had such a good day at Bagni Tiberio in Capri. We’d booked a restaurant reservation and sun loungers online for around midday but ended up getting there closer to 3pm because other things ran over. It wasn’t a problem though — the shuttle boat picks you up from the main harbour right next to the ferry port, super easy to find and they come every 15-20 minutes. Quick and simple.

We were booked in for lunch at 1:30pm and even though we turned up about an hour and a half late, they seated us after just five minutes. The restaurant itself has proper old-school Italian beach club vibes, really lively and fun without trying to be too flash. Views are beautiful too, looking right out over the sea.

Service was honestly the best we had on our whole holiday — both our waiters were so friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible. My girlfriend had the lobster pasta which she loved, and I had one of the fresh fish options. I wasn’t sure what to pick, so I asked the waiter to choose for me and he brought out a sea bream with this lemony buttery sauce and honestly, it was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. Simple but unreal. Came with potatoes and was just perfect.

After lunch we grabbed some drinks and chilled on the beach loungers until about 6pm. The sea was a little wavy but still really nice to swim in. It’s a lovely spot — relaxed, authentic, not showy, just good at what it does. Would 100% go back next time...

UPDATE! As a young female scandinave, who have both lived and traveled a lot in France, Spain and Italy, and has worked at a quite popular cafe in Copenhagen, I have never experienced such bad service. The waiter, a middle age man who I suppose also is one of the mangers, gives us an Italian menu, and two minutes later asks us whether we want to order or text, because we are in the middle of looking up the translation of the menus on our phone. We order, and the waiter brings out half of our beverages for us, and has clearly forgotten the other half. After waiting quit a long time a waiter brings out one plate of food for my friend. The other four of us still hasn’t got our simple pasta when our friend finishes her steak. When we get our pasta the portions are extremely small, and mine in particular is half the size if not smaller than my friend’s who had ordered the same pasta as me. I point this out to the waiter / manger who starts getting really mad and rude towards my friend and I. At last we ask for the receipt twice because they of course forgot it the first time, and we had to pay 25€ for the service. A complete joke. CAN NOT RECOMMEND. Comment to owner: Well if I am wrong about the restaurant I would appreciate you to retransfer the 131€ I can see have been transferred from my bank account to your restaurant “Bagni Tiberio”. Myself and 9 others sat down for lunch here in the middle of our boat day. Within 3 minutes of sitting down we were forcefully told to put in our food and drinks, and when we asked for a few more minutes, our rude server said no. It just got worse from there, with our server being rude the entire time, clearing our dishes before we finished. One of our guests had to ask for his knife back because he wasn’t done eating. It was clear from the get go our server did not like us (for whatever reason) and would not be pleasant. To make matters worse, upon paying he told us the tip is not included and tried to coerce our friend into writing a tip down on the receipt, when the card hadn’t been run. Our friend declined and asked he run the card first, and then when he returned with the card my friend who paid signed and tried to take a photo of the receipt so we could Venmo each other. Our server got angry and yanked the receipt from her hand, claiming “no photos”. He made her very uncomfortable, along with making us all feel unwelcome and treating us with disrespect the entire time. It was upsetting because this was my first time in Capri and it’s a beautiful restaurant; we just didn’t appreciate our server making our friend cry because of him forcefully pulling receipts and yelling at her....
