The food was good. The price was okay for Anacapri but more expensive than usually in Italy. Unfortunately the service was slow and not interested. I ordered Ravioli, my partner had a starter and a Pizza. After a short time the starter (a fried sandwich) and the pasta arrived. The pasta tasted well, but the size of the dish was unusally small. Not a big deal but usually one pasta dish is more than enough to get me full and this one costed about 18 Euro. After we finished the starter and the pasta we had to wait several minutes until the Pizza arrived. The waiter gave me a small plate, fork and knive. Later he took the small plate and gave me a bigger one with the hint that we could share the Pizza. After the Pizza we wanted to eat a dessert. The waiter offered the people all around us dessert which sounded and looked great. But nobody came to us. We waited after my partner finished the Pizza 30 mimutes (around 50 minutes after I had finished the pasta) until we decided to ask for the bill. In the whole time none of the waiters had talked to us. The guests at the tables next to us got a good Service! The waiters came, delivered food, asked for wishes and offered them Desserts. The other guests received their Pizza and pasta at the same time. We felt like we were unwanted guests. Like we had not ordered enough or something like that. So we left unhappy and for me slightly hungry. And I would recommend ordering the Pizza. You get more food for less money than with the pasta. We paid 48 Euro for a fried sandwich, one water, one Coke, one juice, one Ravioli with tomato sauce and a Pizza with ham. For price for the Pizza was good, for the pasta I would have expected more. Oh and as we arrived we waited in Front of the Restaurant waiting for a waiter to talk to us. But we were ignored until three mimutes or so after us several people arrived and actively stopped the waiters to ask for a table. The New arrived people stood behind us but nobody took care about us. We left disappointed but returned due to the good reviews on Google. When I asked directly for a table we finally got one. The toilets are awful. They are clean but both had just shaby sliding doors which were hard to open and close and there was no key to lock the door. The toilet was to far from the door so you even couldn't hold it closed. Just hope nobody comes in. Not very pleasant.
You can go there, the food is good (not the best you have ever had, but good). The location is nice. And the price is okay (especially if you take Pizza). If the waiters like you, it can be a nice and pleasant evening. If not you are going to be disappointed after reading all the good reviews. Like we were. I would not go...
Read moreEver considered having a limoncello spritz on a near empty stomach before noon? If not, this is the place where those ideas should occur to you. Decorated in adorable white and blue, the ambience accentuates the island environment. The hosting waiter, with his bright smile and twinkling eyes, radiates amusement, which only increases once he is made aware of the fact that the drink has hit me like a truck. Fearing imminent collapse when standing up, we order food from the kitchen that has just started up. After deciding on an eggplant bacon panino, I expect a regular sandwich. Instead, my order turns out to be wood oven charred pizza-like bread with eggplant that's so tender, salty and juicy, my eyes start to water. Meanwhile, the terrace around us has filled up. This small bite is truly punching very far above its weight. My partner has opted for a spongy, simple mini pizza with tomato and parmesan. It's absolutely lovely.
Our waiter rushes back and forth, joking in both English and Italian, still finding the time to ask how we've enjoyed our prelude to lunch (and if I can stand up okay). Refreshed and energised, we leave, in awe with how our first culinary experience on Capri...
Read moreWe can’t stop talking about the dinner we had here. After several days of 7€ espressos and just-okay primis on Capri, we were blown away by this unassuming restaurant in Anacapri. We were drawn in by the potted basil plants at the tables, quirky glassware, lit-up nautical knick knacks, and white wash wood tables, and chose a place at the window with a miniature replica of the nearby lighthouse. We were immediately impressed. You can’t always expect much from a house red, but the freshly opened bottle of local Chianti wowed us. Next, we shared the mixed pasta with mussels in a bean sauce — it was one of the most unique, savory, and comforting dishes we’ve had in our month in Italy. But the star of the show was the pizza. We ordered the focaccia with ricotta, lemon, and anchovy sauce. The dough was warm, airy, chewy, charred — transparently, some of the best pizza dough we’ve ever had — and the flavor was equally dynamic with subtle saltiness, sharp lemon, earthy pine nuts, and creamy ricotta. The gorgonzola, walnut, and apple pizza was just as varied. We ended on a sweet note with limoncello. Thank you to the warm, helpful, and authentic staff for having us! Highly,...
