Bellini Bistrot — Restaurant in Catania

Very nice people, polite and happy to help. That I could not be happier with. The reason for the low score: The food was okay, not worth waiting over an hour for a dish. I got pasta with clams, oil and parsley. Folks who sat much later than me and larger got similar dishes (pasta carbonara a table of 4) before me. Finally my dish comes out, it’s happens to be the same dish as the table next to me (who also sat after me) and they opt to serve them first… do as you will with this info, they are nice and maybe that’s all you want. Food was mid and maybe would have been better if I didn’t wait over an hour for it but at that point I was VERY hungry so I of course ate it as fast as I could to leave 😑…. The service here is good and they were helpful however by god the food was shocking. It was actually a bit laughable. The carbonara was awfully bland and dry - worst we have had in Catania and upon reading some other reviews this seems like a common theme.The portions were large which again is good but the side ‘salads’ are just cut up lettuce😂

The other food was just below average but again was generic food like hot dogs and salad. Not one dish was impressive. The outdoor seating is nice with a lovely view of the piazza so maybe a breakfast...

This is the worst restaurant in Catania! I tried the carbonara and never, never order that!!! I can’t believe how bad it was — the pasta was overcooked and drowning in a watery, tasteless sauce that had nothing to do with a real carbonara. No flavor, no seasoning, and I’m pretty sure they used cream instead of eggs, which is just unacceptable in Italy! The bacon was rubbery and barely cooked.
