Prestipino Cafè — Restaurant in Catania

Terrible service! Do not recommend! We went there twice. Food was actually nice, but that‘s about it! First time we waited for eternity for the waitress to come to us. We called them like 5 times. They saw us, but still didn‘t come. The same happened as we wanted to pay.

However, we tried a second time. It was a disaster! We had the same waitress (short hair). As we sat, we said that we are ready to order and didn‘t need a menu. She said ok and came like 15 minute later to take our order. The order came like 15 minutes later (two coffees and two cannoli). The coffee was just awful, AWFUL (the first time it was amazing). The one cannolo was the wrong flavour. The moment she brought it, we said that we ordered something different. Again: abswered with ok and never came back. We waved 2 times, she saw us and still didn‘t come. So we just left.

I would say that this place probably changes depending on the time you are visiting. We visited oofff season and I cannot complain about the service or the quality of the food. Now what I noticed is that on a Saturday it would get really busy and service would really be really slow and probably the quality of the food being prepared or the pastries is not that good as they probably were made in a rush. We did have breakfast two days in a row there so we had a really nice Panini which was very well made together with a cappuccino and fresh orange juice and I have no complaint from the food. However, the service is a little bit slow. Yes, but this is normal for most places because they are always usually under stuff. We came for lunch. We asked staff to help us to order And they were quite helpfull. All six of Us ordered contorno medio And tried to choose veggies And mushrooms at The counter. We do not speak italian but we were trying. When we received bill, there were four contorno grande And just two medio, so we asked at cash desk. Cashier did not speak english And she was upset that we do not speak italian. She asked her colleague. She spoke english very well And told Us that even though we ordeded six contorno grande we should pay four contorno grande And two contorno medio because her colleague served Us grande. We were trying to ask why when we did not ordeded it, she did not know And when i asked what we gonna do with it, she told us that we ate it, so we have to pay.
