Barrique Bistrot — Restaurant in Catania

Worst hospitality ever. The hostess is arrogant, ignorant and downright rude. Never saw such attitude in service before. Owner: get rid of her! I arrived when the bar was half full but was ignored much to long. It is a wine bar with walls full of wine but because of rain they didn't have a list. I came for the wine but had to settle for the house wine. I waited an eternity to order the food and once I did I waited equally long to get it. When it came it was wrong dish and again I had to wait an eternity for it again. My glass was empty and nobody cared so I had to almost shout to get a refill. I asked for the bill, left my money in the box and now after 15 minutes nobody has collected it. Some apology or compensation would have been in place, but none. TOURIST TRAP! PRICES ON THE MENU IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT ARE FALSE! We looked at the menu outside of the restaurant and the waitress was talking to us about the menu. We took a table and she told us the look at the menu via QR code. Since we did not have internet connection we requested the phisical menu. The waistress told us that the prices in the phisical menu were the old prices, the new ones are in the QR menu. Scince we already saw the menu outside we thought we knew the real prices. We then watited extreamly long for our food, of which the taste was below average. ON THE BILL THE PRICES THEN WERE ALMOST DOUBLE OF WHAT WAS WRITTEN OUTSIDE!! (eg. Pizza Fungi 14 instead of outside indicated 7.5) BECASUE THE MENU OUTSIDE ALSO HAD THE "OLD" PRICES WHAT THEY DID...

There are many wonderful places to eat and drink in Catania but I would not recommend this one. We had a nice glass of wine and food and then ordered a second glass of the same wine. It arrived and was not the same and was obviously a very cheap alternative, so we immediately asked what it was. After 10 minutes the waiter informed us it was a 'very expensive' glass (clearly a lie) but he would charge us the same price as the original wine. At paying the bill they agreed to not charge us for this second glass, but then proceeded to do so anyway. Throughout it left like they were simply trying to lie or ignore us which was really unpleasant. Generally the service was slow, eg having to ask for water 3-4 times.
