La Brace — Restaurant in Cefalù

You know this is a little gem !!

David, who so expertly looks after his diners whilst mum cooks, together is a sight to behold. Never have we experienced such an efficient caring service in the hospitality business.

We dined there last Thursday evening 12.10.17 and we had an excellent meal for two. You know when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by David and he offered us a table of our choosing, it was 7.30 pm..they had just opened. We selected a 4 seater and we were told that table was ours for the entire night...WOW. The restaurant was fully booked for that evening and hoards were being turned away at the door. Mostly couples dining but no problem your table was your table if you get my drift!!! We had a lovely meal with what can't only be described as accompanied by the best service we have ever experienced. You know we booked again for two nights hence which would have been the night of Saturday 14 th. My partner was attacked by Tiger Mosquitos in our rental accomodation in I l Molino. (The Old Water Mill ) on the 13 th. necessating medical attention. I rang David to cancel and he very gratiously offered us a fixed date for Sunday 15 th. instead. We can't make it tonight either..same reason.. laid up...bloody Mosquitos. These flying bastards have ruined our vacation to Sicily.

Advice don't stay in accomodation in Cefalu, anywhere up the mountain, or anywhere near a river or wetlands.

A cozy, family-run gem in the heart of Cefalù

On one of our first nights in Cefalù, we walked into La Brace around 8 PM, only to find the restaurant fully booked. Despite being told they were full that night and the next, we decided to book a table for the following evening—and we absolutely did not regret it.

La Brace is a family-run restaurant, with the mother in the kitchen and, we presume, the son as the waiter. Dining here felt like sitting in the living room of their family home, with a warm, inviting, and homely atmosphere. There was a bit of a wait, which was understandable since there was only one waiter, but we didn’t mind at all. We sipped on a lovely glass of house wine while soaking in the ambiance.

For dinner, we had the dish of the day—entrecôte with mushrooms—the gorgonzola pasta, and the homemade meatballs with tomato sauce. Every bite was outstanding, and we finished with sparkling clean plates. The homemade tiramisu for dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

Our dinner meet up with friends at one of our favorite 5-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 cozy ristorante, LA BRACE, a mother & son run eatery in the heart of the charming sea town was a memorable one. Reservations are always hard to come by because space is limited and they are considered one of the best Ristorante for Sicilian dishes cooked to P E R F E C T I O N!Fortunately, we got in at the last minute with the help of our favorite butler, Guiseppe, at Hotel Riva Del Sole! And of course, with the mother & son's graces at La Brace! It's the truth when I say the mother is the only one that runs the kitchen and my, my, she is truly an artist with food! And the son runs the service alone as the host, waiter, & bartender with such ease & friendliness! Together they make an excellent team, no doubt! For me, a fresh dish of homemade basil pesto sauce & spaghetti dish is a winner! It always hits the right spot. So simple. Yet, so deliciously packed with Mediterranean flavors!
