This was the second restaurant in Cefalu that made us feel the least welcome. The food was no doubt worth trying. But the service was downright bad, hence 3 ⭐️. Kudos to the lady waitress who was the only one giving real effort to make the guests feel comfortable. Although I wasn’t a fan of the service I have to admit that their food was actually good. The fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly, tender but not dry. The raviloi was also the right texture. It’s a little bit on the pricey side but for the quality ingredients it’s almost justified. Minus the service that makes fine dining feels not so fine. The cannoli was a 10 out of ten. Of all the cannoli we’ve tried on Sicily this one takes the cake. The filling was finger licking good. If I ever got a chance to go back again I’d go straight for their cannoli. Also need to mention that they use quality olive oil as well. It tasted so smooth and didn’t smell too strong. If you’re able to ignore the cold shoulders from the waiters and focus on the food I think you can really enjoy what they have to offer at Mandralisca Sedici. Best to book a table in advance. Walk-ins will easily get...
Read moreGood restaurant at the average price compared the region. The most I liked is the menu and the very creative and different ideas using in general local/mediterranean ingredients. The experience eating there definitely is a bit above the near restaurants. The waitress who served us is a really good professional, friendly and attentive. As starter we ordered the tuna tartare and the octopus salad and the "primi piati" pasta with pesto and sea food, and spaghetti with vongole. The amount of food os the starters in my opinion was too much, we got full just by eating the starters (which I didnt like because I really wanted the main as well). In general the food was fantastic. Only giving 4 stars because it took to long to prepare (40 min) and a man who served us our wine spilled all over our bread basket, cutlery and table and did not changed them, didnt even say I'm sorry... apart from this situation I...
Read moreThis place is not to be missed! Cefalu is full of tourist traps but this place is as authentic and fresh as it gets. Food was absolutely delicious as portions are huge! My wife had octopus starter which she loved and I had ”fish of the day” which turned out to be a beautifully marinated whole local fish which I struggled to finish. I would recommend booking in advance as this place is busy and rarely accepts walk-ins.
Update: we were so impressed with the quality of the food that we came back next day for another dinner. On this occasion my wife ordered king prawns and (according to her) they were the best she ever tried. Last but not the least, the 250ml of house wine...
