Neo Mediterraneo Vibes — Restaurant in Cefalù

Music was playing outside, good atmosphere, so thought I’ll have a beer. But that’s where the fun stopped. I went into the bar and was immediately told to pay before I’d ordered anything. I told the nice woman taking payments I just wanted a beer and paid €5. I’ve been around Sicily and that should get you a standard bottle of decent beer at the very least, if not a 500ml draught beer in a lot of places. What I was served by the incompetent barman was nothing less than a travesty to bar trade. A plastic half pint glass, only half full, half head, of the the one of the worst tasting lagers I’ve ever had. I was too stunned to even complain at the time and felt like I would have ruined the good vibes a bit, I just wish I’d have taken a photo as evidence of the worst value beer I’ve ever had. On our holiday from london, we visited this bar and I can wholeheartedly say that i’ve never had a better experience. The bartender, Jalel created unique and memorable cocktails for us that never failed to wow me. To hear that these were created off the top of his head, was incredible and truly shows his talent as a bartender. The overall atmosphere was complimented by the lovely personality’s of both staff members. Silvia was attentive and a wonderful person to talk to, we really enjoyed our experience talking to the both of them. Needless to say, me and my boyfriend highly recommend this bar for anyone in the area, wanting a perfect cocktail and a memorable experience.

Wow, what a gem. We stumbled a upon NEO one night and what is discovery it was. The owner and chef are so welcoming, only matched by the delicious drinks and small plates.

No need for a menu, the bartender will make any drink you desire, always surprising you with homemade locally infused liquors. The tasting menu changes, we had the most delicious fried fish and another plate ‘ice-cream tartare’ - I didn’t think such a stark combination could be that good.

Overall, the food is imaginative and delicious, the service is incredible and the drinks are world-renowned.
