The food is not good and the service is a disaster!! We made reservation through “The fork” that they know how to use but not when it comes to discounts. During payment the mid age blonde waitress didn’t want us to pay with the app because she didn’t like that we had a discount there, she didn’t want to acknowledge that the fork gives them the whole price but the client has a discount, she was YELLING at us to have balls to pay the whole price with cash and calling bad names, we called the owner who wanted us to pay the whole price or leave without payment so he can report us - we called police. At the end it was as we said, paying with the fork we had a discount- they received the whole price. It’s such a shame they don’t know what they signed for and are impossibly rude to clients. Be aware - THEY STILL USE THE FORK, even if they said after our dinner they will cancel it. Addition- first of all - I'm “that girlfriend”, not embaressed, i just don't know italian well enough and was tired after all day, it was me who couldn’t finish the food, second - he has been using the app before, third - at the end you’ve got all your money and we payed less with discount that the fork gave us and you didn’t want to agree, you clearly don’t know how to use the app and how it can work for customer, the least - we ordered two plates with appetizers, I don’t think it’s an extravagant quantity of food for 2 people! Or you agree to all terms of the app or you simply don’t use it. Did you hear for example about using “booking” who calls clients and doesn’t agree with the price of the app and shouts at customer to pay more? No? The same thing, not “conditions that were...
Read moreFirst of all - I've been in the US a very long time, so I compare against the US here.
The diner itself is really beautiful, authentic furniture and decoration in rocabilly 50s style with rock music playing. Perfect.
Service is friendly and attentive, above average compared to Italian standards. Service is speaking a quite good English, a little miracle in Italy and defenetely a big PLUS.
I had a John's Burger which comes with fries and a vanilla shake in addition. First very positive: you can order your burger cooked as you like so I ordered medium-rare. In came the burger, a huge mountain with I would guess 2x200g patties. The patties were cooked well-medium and tasted more steamed than fried so this defenetely needs to be improved. At least they were juicy. The overall taste was good, but I think a higher meat quality, use of pork fat instead of beef fat and better cooking would do good. I also think the fat % could be higher, seems like 90\10 here.
Fries were some sort of steakhouse style thick sliced and deep fried, seemed to lay around for a few minutes before getting on my plate since they were a bit wobbly and just warm but not hot like fresh out of a deep fryer.
The shake was excellent, no more words necessary here.
Last but not least the price. I paid 20eur for the above which is a bit overpriced for the food quality, pretty ambience doesn't cure that. Considering that John's is located in a tourist hot spot I think...
Read moreIt was gone 10pm and my friend and I were hungry and unable to find sustenance when appeared from the darkness an American diner; John's Burger. This sainted holy offering of a chance to satisfy our hunger was an emotional moment. We didn't need asking twice. Our waiter Philip greeted us with a warm amd welcoming attitude and kindly showed us to our table in the outdoor seating area where we had both the the pleasure of the refreshing lake garda air and the jumping atmosphere of this exuberant establishment. At the point where our food arrived we were beside ourselves with excitement. We devoured in a manner alluding to that of a labrador with a POMC mutation. The food was utterly delectable. We were most satisfied. And if you're thinking this experience couldn't have been any better, you would be wrong. For none other than Elvis Presley was rocking the mic all damn night (He also did some Tina Turner and Frank's Sinatra songs). We decided to bring our delightful endeavour to and end when Elvis had finally left the building after having already done so and returned several times previously to enthusiastic requests for more songs. His manager was kind enough to take a photo of us with the man himself which we will always cherish. Thankyou John's Burger you are for certain one of the finest places I have had the good...
