Hotel Giardinetto — Hotel in Desenzano del Garda

The hotel is about 600 meters from the train station....all down hill and about 200 meters down to the lake...a really good position. |We stayed here on the recommendation of an Australian friend, he and his wife stay here regularly....we were not disappointed.... we were met with a very warm welcome from Sarah who is the most thoughtful hostess. |Everyday we would tell her what we were thinking of doing and she would give advice and offer suggestions...all very much appreciated. Whether it was a train trip to Verona for the day....or a restaurant for dinner, she had great tips for us. |Our room had a balcony with lake views and it was lovely just to sit and take it all in.|The room itself had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean. |We enjoyed the breakfasts with a good variety.|All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke very good English.|I can thoroughly recommend this...

We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel perfectly adequate with very friendly, attentive and helpful staff - Sara in particular. It is family run by Sara and her mum. Our requests were dealt with promptly. The twin room we had everything we needed, yes it may be slightly older but it was clean and well cared for. There are no tea and coffee making facilities but we were offered cold water bottles multiple times and asked for milk which we left in the air conditioned room all day. The breakfast were perfectly adequate, service was attentive and again our quirky requests were fulfilled with a smile. The hotel is situated, as others have said, between the train station and the old town/ferry port - about 8-10 mins both ways. We didn't find it noisy at all although we could hear some traffic at times. Shutters gave total darkness, keot the heat out and shut out noise. We would...
