Nestled amidst the charming streets of Florence, Italy, lies a culinary gem that transports diners to the heart of the Mediterranean: Da Nicola. Renowned for its exquisite seafood dishes, this establishment epitomizes the essence of Italian coastal cuisine.

Stepping into Da Nicola, we were immediately enveloped by the warm ambiance. The attentive staff welcomes guests with genuine hospitality, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the seafood spaghetti. Prepare to embark on a culinary journey with each perfectly al dente strand of pasta entwined with an array of fresh, succulent seafood. From plump shrimp to tender calamari and briny mussels, every bite bursts with the flavors of the sea. The sauce delicately coats each ingredient, infusing the dish with a harmonious balance of sweetness and tanginess. I will be dreaming and thinking about this dish for a long time.

What truly sets this place apart is their commitment to sourcing only the finest, locally sourced ingredients. Each component of their seafood spaghetti reflects the restaurant's dedication to quality and authenticity, ensuring a dish that is not only delicious but also a celebration of the region's rich culinary heritage.

Pair your seafood spaghetti with a glass of crisp, chilled white wine recommended by the knowledgeable sommelier, and you have a match made in culinary heaven.

I was surprised that not many people entered this establishment, but it maybe due to the priceyness.

In conclusion, Da Nicola - Pesce & Carne in Florence is a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts and lovers of Italian cuisine alike. With its enchanting ambiance, impeccable service, and unforgettable seafood spaghetti, dining here is a true gastronomic delight that will leave a...

Account holder’s nine-year old son composed; account holder made some edits for clarity and syntax.

Da Nicola is an amazing restaurant with amazing waiters like Islam. He was our waiter and he was amazing. And the others were great; like the greeter was super nice too, and that’s why I give service a 5 stars! Next food, I liked it because it tasted amazing. [My dad] had the gnocchi and it was great and my [brother and I] had steak and it was great. [My mom] had popper del and she said it was amazing, and that’s why I give the food 5 stars! Now for the atmosphere: it [has] an outside restaurant that had a nice see-through tarp and it’s right next to a restaurant called Zá Zá and the line was too long [at that restaurant when we arrived.] We saw a nice person calling us to have dinner at da Nicola, and it worked out perfect anyways: 5 stars! We loved it! Thank you, it really made our day feel better. Thank you again Islam and the greeter. Again, I loved it! Thank you, and more people should come! Thank you, and next time we come back to Florence we’re probably coming straight back! Thank you for giving us an amazing dinner!

Rich in Cultural Flair and Flavor:

The only thing better than superb food is outstanding service- Da Nicola offers both, in addition to a lively, relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant provided everything we were looking for on our final night in Florence: unbelievable flavors, beautifully plated meals, and warm, engaging service. We were waited on by 4 outstanding men, and elderly gentleman who lured us out of a ridiculous line next door, a charming man who may be the owner or manager, and two friendly younger men- all offering warm, amicable service.

I've ranked the meals below, but I promise they were all delectable. The Misto Di Polpo Alla ' Nicola' (Octopus prepared in various ways) was the star, it is a must-try. The Gnocchi Alla Picantina Livornese (homemade gnocchi with seafood) with pillowy gnocchi was rich in flavors and sooo satisfying. The Branzino con Patate E Verdure Al Forno (whole sea bass with potatoes and vegetables) may not sound like much but it was absolutely amazing. Especially after the owner/manager/most attentive server personally de-boned it and kept us laughing...

At first we are reluctant to enter because the restaurant that was suggested by our tour guide is their neighbor. But their queue is very long. But we see the menu and it's interesting because in the middle of meat madness in Florence (which we did on our 1st day in Florence), seafood is like a breathe of fresh air. We have salmon carpaccio as starter. It was smoked salmon on a bed of rucola, topped with burrata cheese with lace of reduced balsamico sauce. It was perfect. The smokiness of the salmon and the creaminess of the cheese blend well. I orderen piti cacio pepe et guanciale because that's what we miss on Pienza. And it was delicious on it's simplicity. Served hot and remain hot for the duration of consumption. The pasta itself a bit on the soft side which is as per my liking. My husband ordered Seabass with roast potatoes and roast veggies. The seabass comes very fresh, skin and bone comes off easily, and the maitre d' helped us with removing skin and bone skillfully on the table. The seabass taste mildly salty which brings out the fish savory flavor. Well done, guys.. keep up the good work...
